Thank you all for showing interest. I think we have got enough people to participate now. As I have started this thread, I would like to take this opportunity to suggest a direction for this album. Please note that this is just a mere idea; it is open to further discussion or may be you guys can put forward something more interesting.

My recommendation is to do a Trailer structured album. A general (but not limited to) breakdown of a trailer track, as you all know, is like this:

Act 1 + Act 2 + Build up + Act 3 + Ending.

Purpose of mentioning this is to adhere to a pre-defined structure so that no body will astray from the designed focus and the album will be to the point. Under this general idea/rule, the theme could be anything of your choice. Pure orchestral, orchestral-hybrid, fantasy, etc. Duration of track could be 3-5 mins. This, in my understanding, will not only benefit to those doing orchestral music but also to those who are into rock, electronic hybrid, ambient etc genres. Everything can fit in. Most importantly make sure that track SHOULD have 'that' clear cinematic vibe and not representing other genres if you know what am saying. Also prefixing your track in brackets like dramatic, emotional, battle scene, uplifting etc could be a good idea.

If anyone can come up with more favourable recommendation, please do so to help moderators decide what is best. Up to you @Introninja @ned944 and other mods please. Thank you.

 

Here's an Idea. Why not pick some movie scenes(scenes that are up on youtube) and then let people interpret the scene musically. You could pick scenes from different movie genres, or movie trailers. Then everybody is on the same page, as they know exactly what they need to produce. After all that's the idea of cinematic music. Then the tracks can be labeled by the scene and judged on the interpretation of the chosen scene.

i think your idea is good for a CONTEST, but for an album can be limiting. To "judge" is another game too... Maybe to take in consideration the tracks produced by the artists is a task to do in the production's chain of the album. Like an exercise i find your idea very good, but for the goal of having an album produced and ready to release i don't think so. But is only my humild opinion. Cheers!
