What is Parametric Sampling?

In the past, we employed snapshot modeling of analog devices, delivering impressive flexibility and tonal precision for your productions. However, we have now advanced to a fully parametric approach, capturing unprecedented detail. This method involves recording through the analog hardware multiple times, collecting five times more data points than traditional methods. The result is a more accurate and nuanced profile of analog non-linearities, enhancing both realism and tonal depth.


Experience the full range of the GTQ2 hardware preamp’s natural saturation and analog distortion characteristics with this new parametric preamp profile. Even at extreme gain settings, the distortion faithfully replicates the hardware’s response.

To maximize the performance of our parametric devices, please follow these guidelines:

Maintain Optimal Input Levels: Utilize the -18dBFS average rule when interfacing with Genome or BYOD to ensure the profile receives the correct level before adjusting the gain. Tools like Hornet VU can help manage your levels effectively.




Genome Settings: Start with Default Gain Settings: Begin with the Genome main gain set to 0 (fully left). This starting point mirrors the standard preamp gain knob on your hardware. Increase the gain as needed and adjust the output level accordingly. Auto gain functionality will be introduced in the forthcoming AnalogX Genesis plugin.
