    analogue including tape = expensive 2" Tape $250.00 - $550.00 15 minutes @30ips Reference tape $1000.00 + maintenance cost, or book a $tudio.

digital = 1 time cost of computer and interface. No recurring cost, easy editing, record anywhere at anytime, total recall.

This does not include the stress of keeping a live take, or rolling over it, using analogue tape.

many people swear on the analog sound of their eurorack modules, because they dont know that half of them are digital.

LOL nice reply, notice even 15 euro cassette recorder has a recurring cost though.
I do my digital recording with parrot toys that record my voice and then throw it right back at me. LOL!

    dear tax office,

i forgot to add in my yesterdays declaration that i have recurring costs for my main tape recorder of 0,17 cents for repair and replacement parts and 1,72 for electric energy per month.

please consider these, i need that money badly.

There is a lot of irony in this analog-digital. Indeed, history repeats itself. I remember back in late 70s and 80s, and even into the 90s we were trying to stay away from analog, going digital and in the process paying $175,000 for a Mitsubishi or $250,000 for a Sony digital reel to reel. Indeed, the analog reel to reel were being used mainly for recording drum tracks or bass tracks, and we could not pay someone to get them out of our studio. We hated tape wow and flutter, noise floor, tape hiss, and spending a fortune on noise reduction systems. Now, that we don't have what we hated in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, we are willing to pay to introduce that "noise" back into our "clean" digital audio signals including vinyl crack noise. WTF? :dunno: They call it nostalgic sound fx , back them we called it shit (Son of a bitch Hiss In Tape). We have go back to the future withmusic genres such as lo fi house in which we make a track sound like a third generation cassette tape copy. This makes me wonder what we could be trying to achieve 30 years from now. For this very reason, a long time ago I decided to hoard legit and non-legit digital programs. Who knows? By 2051 my 24TB of digital shit could be worth a fortune as "vintage digital".

That’s not 100% true. Remasters are usually worse.

We have other problems than that!
Most people don't even own decent speakers any more.
They might have a pair of more than average (bt)headphones, but when it comes to speakers they have some screaming bt cubes.
This is the part where something like "when I was young we had decent speakers before we even had a car" has to be inserted:guru:

I see him DJ on Twitch once in a while. A lot of techno, EBM, and hardware guys (and some hot girls) have been showing up on Twitch late at night in the Music section because of the plague, nice little scene starting.

Latent hostility is the devil's playground. Keeping it analog is keeping it real:winker:

As all sound is just small part of the energy spectrum, replace the word sound with energy in your post and you are onto something.

Thanks for the comments, here and not only.
Once again I am convinced that if there is a possibility, need to purchase analog equipment, constantly and until old age.
And this will be relevant in 10-20 years or more. I already have something.
    About Acustica Audio:
It also becomes clear that it is not capable of emulating anything serious. Only the simplest and low-channel circuits, mostly some equalizers. What we see in the offers of the office. And even this comes at the expense of huge computing resources. But we are able to replace all this simplicity with something.
Therefore, it is worth tying up with replacing something serious with plugins.
