Finally reached my first goal and releasing NCAR virtual sidecar and summing mixer plugin!

Strip Functions;

- Preamp
- 3 Band Fixed Equalizer ( 110Hz - 1.6kHz - 10kHz)
- Output
- VU Meter (L+R Sum)
- Editable Track Name Entry
- Bypass
- Channel Mute

Master Functions;

- Output
- VU Meter
- Editable Track Name Entry (L/R)


Routing Steps (SUM);

- Put NCAR to Bus channel
- Send your individual tracks or bus tracks to NCAR track
- Select input channels which you want to use (See track explanation)
- Now, you are able to hear 8 Stereo Inputs from NCAR's 1 Stereo Out

Routing Steps (IND - Individual);

- Put NCAR to Bus channel
- Send your individual tracks or bus tracks to NCAR track
- Select input channels which you want to use (See track explanation)
- Send NCAR's outputs to new or existing tracks
- Now, you are able to hear each channel's outputs from routed tracks

waves have also such a thing am i wrong...which alternatives we have also..?

I see you knew of this thread I started, but some other alternatives were mentioned after.
My monitors don't reveal enough! But my cans do.
I just use it and trust it's doing it's thing!
i can only really use it in an environment with everything bounced down as multitrack audio, due to cpu.
So, Waves, Satson and (I think) Airwindows.

Before all this, we'd just out an inst track, or subgroup of drums or whatever, to a channel/s on a desk, and record it back in. So you get the channel and the output stage of a desk. Borrowed one strip of a Mackie for this once. Also used budget Soundcraft (pre-China made!) too.
I'm thinking that one day I'll just buy a summing-box. But until then it's Waves NLS for me.

Yeah, we'd push it quite hard! Don't know exactly how much now though, sorry. So long ago. And I still knew very little then! lol.
I think it's all to do with THD and harmonics and such. But I'm no expert. And I'm 'no Avenger'! He would know...!

 

Channel strips are there for making your tracks "cohesive",so you coud use the Brainworx consoles on every track,or Waves NLS,SSL.
Personnally I use the Bx SSL4000E on every track for its EQ only because I don't like its compressor,and on my different bus I use a SSL G style buss compressor,like the Bx Townhouse or Elysia compressor and a light saturation like Blackbox HG-2 for example or tape saturation.

 

Bx SSL has a THD All button, so I guess that compares to what Waves NLS does, but you mention Waves SSL which isn't specifically for summing box duties. Or SSL G.
So, unless I'm mistaken, in your case, shouldn't you have your favoured channel strips AND the NLS employed on every channel?
I mean, otherwise Waves wouldn't have made NLS.

 

NLS adds some harmonics,and the BX consoles add some harmonics with the THD,like an overdriven console.Summing boxes are nothing but some added harmonics,but I guess a (light) saturation plugin would do the job as well.Waves NLS is an emulation of the saturation of Neve,SSL,Trident consoles.
No wonder why these big companies release one plugin,releasing new plugins is all about their business!

Actually it is an emulation of three consoles:
Yoad Nevo's Neve
Mark Spike Stent's SSL
Mike Hedges' EMI

Airwindows newer Console 5 will also fit the bill. It is draws bit more kraft from the CPU than Chris's previous Console soft machines though earlier iterations are less labor intensive and are of course freely available. https://www.airwindows.com/console5/

 

Would love to get an Apple U2B version of this plugin, I always seem to need it but can't use it.
