    Hi everyone!

I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out how to get the Amplitube 3 plugin to work with Cubase 5.
I've already installed Amplitube 3 on my PC and tried to copy the only .dll file available in the Amplitube 3 folder to the VSTPlugins Cubase folder. That didn't work. Also tried copying the .vpa and .vpa64 files to the VSTPlugins Cubase folder. That didn't work either...

Can anyone tell me step by step what i'm suposed to do?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers!

Never mind I found the problem...

Amplitube created a new VSTPlugins folder under Program Files with the correct .dll file in it... All i had to do was move the file to the correct VSTPlugin folder.

    Cheers!

Heres some tips that can be useful to you

You can install vst anywhere you like i.e on another hardrive then C:

Then in your DAW you can choose that folder and do a scan for plugins.
I have a folder called VST Plugins in that folder i have subfolders where i organized my plugins i.e the subfolders is called EQ,Delay,Reverb and Guitar etc.

This way you have a much better looking vst folder where you find what you looking for much quicker because you know where the plugin suppose to be in the vst folder.

Here is how you do it

When you install plugins that have an installer like Amplitube you have options of where you gonna install the plugins many people just click next next next without even looking.

Usually in the installer you got to click the accept the licens agreement then "next" and there you find an option to where you want to install the plugin and maybe some plugins data like presets content or whatever every installer works that way.

And you can change the default folder in the register from c:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vst Plugins to the folder you created

Go to start klick run type regedit the look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE click on the + there you find a subfolder called software click and search for VST click on the folder icon to the right you see a value called c:\program files\steinberg\vst plugins.

Change that value to your new vst folder i.e D:\Vst Plugins

Now everytime you install a plugin the installer automatically look for your new vst folder instead of the steinberg folder very neat.

If you install assigne cracked plugins you can make them go wherever you like too in your new folder.

But that installer create a subfolder called vst plugin so beware it can look like this.

D:\Vst Plugins\Delay\Expert Sleepers August Loop\Vst Plugin you dont see that in the installer.

You only see D:\Vst Plugins\Expert Sleepers but click in that dialouge and use your right arrow to go to the end and there use your backspace to delete the word vst plugin and the backslash = \

And now you see the plugin in your DAW without the subfolder

Now your assigne plugin will go wherever you like it take s a little longer but is well worth the effort

    Nice tip!

I'l try that as soon as i get home.
I'll be installing more plugins and that will surely simplify the process.

    Thanks!
