Ample Sound VST installation

    Had to reinstall my OS and am trying to restore the Ample guitar VSTs I had previously. Have run the installer, then the library installer, then the AS Self Activator...which comes up empty. (I remember when I used it initially, it listed the various instruments that I could activate.) Has something changed?

    No. Maybe your macOS?
    What OS are you on? The same as before you reinstalled?
    Doesn't sound like it.
    Eiher way, you need to state your OS.

    Oh okay.
    So you must be trying to install newer AS plugs that you never had before, right?
    Some of the new versions did seem to have a strange Self Activator, I remember that.
    I can't remember how I got around it.

    edit: Oh! Yes I do! I had to manually extract some stuff!
    The newer version plugs put stuff in a different folder. I remember now.
    Ah. So that was just an installer thing for me.
    I'm sorry, I can't think what your problem might be.
    Hopefully somebody who has installed them more recently will remember and chime in.

    Yeah, it's a bit mysterious! They're the same AS instruments I had before - in fact, I've got some Ableton sessions where I'd used them, and the tracks are still there but the plugin now show up as "disabled".

    UPDATE: Was able to find a bizarre workaround - I installed the instruments on my laptop (which is also running Mojave 10.14.6), then copied all the files onto my desktop, and everything worked again. For reasons unknown, the necessary files wouldn't get installed when running the installer on the desktop. Hope this is a useful solution to others encountering this issue.

    Huh. And this just happened to me on a laptop, with AGSH.
    It won't load in AS Host because there is a settings file not present.
    I checked the installer with Pacifist and I have all the files though!
    Strangest thing was, the installer didn't actually install the plugs! I had to do it manually.
    So right now I have a non-working AGSH!
    It shows in Self-Activator but says file missing, or something.

    And I'm sure that last year I conquered this, but right now I'm baffled!

    Anybody? Please?
