    Hi everyone,

I'm looking to do recordings with my binaural microphones (Soundman OKM II Rock Studio) in very loud environments.

I already have a dedicated mobile recorder (Tascam DR-05X) and the Soundman D1 Interface which both support up to 24bit/96kHz, but I've been looking into possibilities to record in 32bit so that I don't need to think about the gain settings to prevent the converters potentially clipping.
The mics likely won't clip as they're made to withstand around 141db SPL and I don't believe my sources are louder than that.

My idea was to look for a small USB interface, similar to the D1, that supports two channels and at least 32bit/44.1Hz, which I could use to record (wav) files with those specifications directly onto my phone.
Of course, I could buy another recorder like the Zoom H1essential (or similar, e.g. 2x Zoom F2 + Y-cable), but recording to my phone could increase comfort, as I wouldn't need to carry a separate recorder around in my pocket.

Does anybody have ideas about where to look for a device like that or perhaps even specific suggestions?
Different opinions also very welcome, if anybody thinks a separate recorder is a safer bet for example.

    Thanks and cheers.
