Je suis actuellement sous Windows 10 et mon pc n'est pas configuré pour Windows 11. je souhaite continuer a utiliser ce PC mais avec un système d'exploitation compatible a 100/100 avec ableton live et tous les vst installés.
il y a beaucoup de systèmes d'exploitation inspirés de Windows 11 et beaucoup moins gourmands en ressources, mais je ne sais pas lequel installer.
qui peux me conseiller??

There are also light versions of 11 that are much less intensive you can get, even lighter than even 10, which have all the bloatware removed on install.

 

Can you tell us a little more about your CPU, RAM, and graphics card? In principle, you'll be fine with Windows 10.

since they skipped 9, it always difficult to understand if 10 is nine and 11 is 10. Just skin it like windows xp and pay no mind to the version number.

 

I had windows 10 on my secondary machine, an i7-4770 with 16gb RAM and replaced it with a super light version of windows 11 without TP or compatibility check or bloatware. It stopped updating after the final 22H2 update understandably. It not only boots faster, and every application runs faster, also loads faster and it has never crashed, other than in a power outage.
This is my own experience only, and no complaints. The above machine was deemed incompatible BTW. It runs better than the O/S's that are supposed to be compatible.

Hi @Somnambulist, can you tell us please, if you don't mind, which super light Win 11 did you use? Also, had you any problems in finding all the appropriate drivers to configure the devices (GPU, LAN, Bluetooth, motherboard etc). I have an old Lenovo laptop with similar specs, so it could be an interesting choice for me. Thanks in advance.

My reccomendation is to choose Windows Pro for Workstations and, if you wanna try, Creosynth playbook.

According to many, it's not a good idea to use unofficial ISOs...

There are tons of (I've collected "some" here), but almost all are mainly gamers-oriented.

tu peux tout de même installer Windows 11, ce qui bloque c'est le TPM.
va juste te falloir utiliser Rufus pour créer la clé de boot, qui lui va retirer tous les requirements de W11
penses bien à faire une save de toutes tes données juste avant.
j'te conseille d'installer la version LTSC pour avoir un W11 léger sans trop de bloatware

The only people I know who have issues with the Ghostspectre 23H2 are those who have CPU's it does not recognize. If you are unsure because your machine was already on the incompatible list for 22H2, always install 22H2 first, back it up when it works, then try the 23H2.

 

Thank you so much, I have a i7-3770 so it should be recognized. Other drivers issues? As you know sometimes old laptops have devices no more supported. For example I have a GT635m GPU and the last Nvidia driver is 391.35 for Win10/64 (2018) and there is nothing for Win11. This could be a problem?
