HOW DOES A SAW WAVE GO THIS HARD? I don't care for the microtuning. I just want that level of SHOCK and POWER from that particular kind of saw wave. And Aloboi himself said that Logic's Distortion plugin is responsible for that extra edge, but I don't believe it for a minute. I have Misstortion 2 (a free plugin that supposedly sounds like Logic's distortion plugin, but even better) and it just...doesn't hit the same. THIS IS SORCERY!!

(I am trying to recreate this sound in Serum 2. The answer feels so close, but I just can't seem to get there.)

 

Logic Pro (X, anyway) does not have a single distortion plugin. It has the pedalboard, which has 12 "distortion" type pedals; and they can be used 4 at a time on one pedalboard instance in whatever signal flow you want. For regular style plugins, it has 6 stock plugins in its' distortion category menu. Of those 6, 1 is a bitcrusher, 1 is overdrive, 2 are basic distortion, 1 is clip distortion, and the last one is phase distortion. The overdrive is plain appearance, but sounds really nice for a stock plugin.

Someone could possibly arrive an effect worth asking about, without a doubt. Logic's plugins are great for stock plugins. But I am with you on it anyway. I think some of those producers who say everything is stock Logic plugins is because either a) warez or b) they are not about to endorse someone's plugin for free. Maybe they even had to pay for it.

Of course, don't forget the possibility of some bragging too. "I'm so great I can use all DAW stock plugins and crank out Billie Eilish tracks in my basement. No other work was done, the entire album just popped out of my computer". Sure, just like Paul McCartney still can't read sheet music.

Been battling the similar battle for the longest time, i think most of the time there´s like hw distressor on 70% or culture vulture also hw. It is similar how mixers constantly saying "all ITB for 5 years this that". If you look at Jaycen Joshua´s desk and hear him saying he´s ITB.. yeah, mixing wise, but he does not say his interns are running vocals/drums thru pultecs all night long and than he chooses the best one in the morninig...

It is like the jungle, more food for them, the same goes for producers.

I´ve been trying to make these big bottom pads that can work without a kick..other than that clicky kick ofc... for who knows how long, it always sound sterile, but i´m loving TUS Vavra, it sounds really nice, i´m not into trance but i do love how deadmau5 sometimes makes them sound..
