    4 chords will get the basic idea of most pop songs, but many from more creative artists, i.e., Beatles, will need many more chords. ;-)

    You want complexity there is always Parker, Powel, Debussy and Mahler.

    Pop is supposed to be fun, disposable and common with intervals that easy to identify and sing along to.
