I play with sound alot, but did anyone revisit their music/tunes in 43800 Hz?
Well i did, and WTF ! The low end and other frequency's are just like.... Well...
I can not believe this !
it is like opening a new kind of dimention of audio.
it is like something i never heard b4.
I did it with Hammerfall DSP Settings and piched it down to -0.680%

I must say this is a new kind of sound !

I'm guessing you mean 438.00? 43.8kz would be out of human hearing...

    (Edit, decimal typo)

A=438Hz, not 440Hz? Yeah, it feels different. Playing guitar tuned to A=438 really does feel different. I'd imagine that creating and playing the music with instruments tuned to A=438 instead of A=440 might make a difference, rather than just pitching the recording down to it, due to that the mathematics involved in the intonation might be different.

How does low end depend on sample rate? Isn't sample rate for precision when equalizing near Nyquist area, for aliasing reduction, for pitching, and for very subtle changes in attack timing (compression). It is all about high frequencies, their processing, avoiding distortion, where computer and dsp algos stop counting and work worse, so by extended sample rate, upsampling, oversampling it may bring more life to highs, and less distortions.
Yeah, impulse responses, fir length are too sample rate dependent, like in Equilibrium, but here fir length (all phases modes) is for notching+more ringing+better frequency precision VS gentle+wide band range+less ringing+less surgical accuracy in frequencies......

I would choose 65536 Hz sample rate, for that 128 Hz earthquake punch vibe, and grooving air at 15998-16002 Hz.....that 1024 Hz note....No less, no more.... :D wtf

Guys, it's a typo in the title, he's talking about 438.00Hz, as @Trurl correctly mentioned.
Sadly, the math is even wrong, when you pitch down 440Hz by 0,68% you'll end up with ~ 437.00Hz rather than 438.00Hz. :winker: Just saying'.
And absolutely nothing unexpexted happens, everything gets lower and slower, it's a simple digital pitch down effect. The only 'unusual' effect is, that this happens with every audio source, not only in your DAW.

    EDIT:
Ha, I got distracted by the 440Hz tuning. If you use 44100Hz SR it results in 43800Hz SR as @Myfanwy showed correctly in his post #28. Therefore the title 'could be' correct.
So @m.sarti this is your fault. :winker:

    ok for the typo

but he's talking about "tuning" the "musical instruments", not changing the pitch of "the recordings" (i.e. the wave files)

or someone should specify what we are talking about lol those are 2 very different games

No, he is clocking down his RME interface from 44100 to 43800 Hz as he describes in his first post.

Everyone ever used turntables and the speed fader knows the difference in sound even with small changes. People with perfect pitch might even get very uncomfortable if a song is off key.

Another "fun" fact is that many records of the analog era aren't pitched correctly due to little differences in speed calibration of tape recorders and cutting machines. I noticed that myself while trying to play along to or mix my favourite 80s disco records. Even the digital versions on Tidal or Spotify are the same. So there are many tracks using drum machines and synthesizers that are not exactly tuned to A=440Hz and even slightly drift from beginning to end making it hard to DJ with.

going for middle ground, 436Hz, it's getting huge while still resonating like a proper vibrator in sync with earth.

He's clocking down the Pitch in the RME interface by 0.68%, means he runs every audio source at 99,32%. 440Hz*99.32% = 437.008Hz.

It's just like when my nuts are warm and my sack hangs a little lower.
I hate playing in cold stadiums.
    Really makes a difference.
