    I agree.
My first experience with Fado was in the early`90 in Portugal, live shows have a certain character...
What I would like is a "HQ" Capoeira Music Lib for Kontakt...

I guess it`s nothing new, there are loads of Guitar Libs one could achieve these kind of sounds.
The reason why they call it "Fado Instrument" is probably because there is more to come.
It`s their first release, a "start up" to say so.
Anyway, it`s producers from Portugal trying to make it.

awful thing is a very stong sentence, probably you never found the right artist or never have been to a live show to really evaluate the genre,
anyway, it´s your taste and i´m not criticizing, everyone have their own tastes and i respect that.

maybe you like more this fusion :)

    Thank you for reminding us...
Awful thing is indeed a "strong" expression and far from being a depletive critic.
I consider myself as lucky, because it`s pretty unusal to find a Fado right next corner if you don`t live in Portugal.
And the one`s I`ve seen were simple daily life sessions in restaurants & bars/cafes.
It was rather a gathering then a show, the performers were standing in the audience to say so, involved in a constant feedback.
Quite an enriching experience, nothing heard like it before. But I don`t like it through speakers...
What I love about Kontakt is the preserving quality. We can`t know what the future holds, instruments disappear every day or the
    people capable of playing them...
I wish these guys from adamastorvi.com all the best, maybe they can realize more libs.
And a big Thanks for adding the videos, too.

Anything well recorded and arranged sound good.
But the few chords and rythms are só booooring.
Here in Brazil had a penitention called Roberto Leal, a more pseudo fado thing that assoled here for more that a decade. :wow:
For me is repetitive that looks like a replay.
When I decided to be a pro I search for anything different, out of my confort zone, and listening until I change my mind or discover why i really not like this genre.
In a time without internet I really listened all I can, ussualy correcting counterpoint from students from the university.
And I am not talking about Portugal sended all their criminals to drain their colonies.
I do mor known where you live or your formation, but music is subjective with profissionals and amateurs (more here) and sometimes an opinion do not come from ignorancy, it can câmera from hard students too.
And yes I like fusion and I think that a music is poor when have less than 40 voices (thats me trying to be simple and you must know that serial music kilowatt something on our brain)
About critic: critic is good, it is an essencial part. of our identidy, creativity, and for sure its no an offence. Its a thing that make richier our relations, the Only thing that avoid alienation.

I had no doubts that you got a profund opinion behind your statement and it`s just a little challenge to write in English. Somehow I wanted to tease out another reply, I admit. You can understand the Fado lyrics without Google Translate, lol, and also because of your backround as a musician from Brasil.
Thank you for getting back to it.

Dear sideshowbob Nothing that I write is personal, so no hurt feelings at all.
Sometimes I like to shake, especially with preconceived ideas about music :mates:
For us in Brazil is very hard to understand the portuguese of other nations and they had many words that are iqual but with different meanings, is truthly fun a many jokes involve portugueses. The portugueses say that they do the same with us, but we really do not understand thair jokes about us
Who really know all the music off Brazil is may cousin that play the guitars in the film Rio 2 *yes*
