Hi everyone,
I managed to install Pro Tools HD 10.3.10 on El Capitan and apart from the graphics issue everything seems to work except Altiverb and the AIR plugins. I get "Pro Tools could not load the following plug-ins" message. Does anyone have an idea that could help me?

I use Pro Tools 10.3 on El Capitan too. Altiverb v6 should load, but no way for Vocalign, Avid Air suite, McDSP...,despite they load fine on macOs 10.9. I never found a way to load them. The reason:
"malformed mach-o image: segment load command __LINKEDIT filesize is larger than vmsize"
If anybody have an idea for a fix...

 

Thank you for your answer, I feel less lonely but it's a pity! Altiverb 6 you say it works, but all my sessions are with 7 and I don't think I would have the presets. Maybe someone else was more successful!

 

Yes, a pity.. I know that v7 has been cracked for mac, with the openssh trick, but i never tried it.

The only thing I remember about that was that the dylib file for Altiverb meant that one had to lose the openssh Softube and some other things.
So having been using Altiverb since it came out, like the early '00s, I eventually gave it up.
@ricoutine I remember I had some similar problems whilst momentarily on El Cap. Not PT related, but Altiverb related.
Can you not at least go to Sierra?
El Cap wasn't too good.

 

Thanks for your interest, I can install Sierra on my hackintosh without any problem but will PTHD 10.3.10 work? Mavericks would have been the best solution but my Xeon E5 doesn't seem to want to boot on it!

I'm sorry I don't know about PTHD 10.3.10 (crack, I'm guessing?) on Sierra, sorry.

 

Pro tools on sierra didn't work here are the testing results.

10.8 -Not tested/Not tested
10.9 Maverick -Lucky/Success
10.10 Yosemite -Success/Success
10.11 of el capitan -Success/Success
10.12.6 Sierra -Installed, but does not start/Is installed, does not start
10.13 High sierra -unsuccessful/unsuccessful



And since you mentioned that you are on a Hackintosh you are still able to install windows and get the pro tools 12.5 and install those plugins and you should be good.

PTHD 10 works very well on Mavericks on an old Haswell PC but I would like to change. The graphical bug on El Capitan I can deal with, however I miss the AIR plugins and Altiverb.

Yes, I thought of this option, pro tools 12.5 on Windows, but all my sound banks are on HFS disks, I have to install a lot of plugins, often old versions and I don't know if I'll find them on Windows.

Maybe I'll try it, is it reliable pro tools 12.5 on Windows ?

 

Yes it has been released by AudioUTOPiA it is stable. so i would say go for that route and see if the old versions are available on windows which i think they are.

 

Well, I've installed PT 12.5 in a Window 10 partition and I run into a issue. When I hit play nothing happend, the cursor won't move. Tryied with a test session only with a audio file.
Any idea ?

 

Never mind, it was Fabfilter plugin I don't know why !
But, AIR plugins is missing too and all the Protools stock plugins!!!

The real pity is Windows! Installed Pace and Windows doesn't boot anymore...
I think I'll stay in mac...

 

Do a clean install of Windows, I think some drivers are bad or something isn't right. Either way delete that partition and download a new ISO from Microsoft and install from it and report back.
