I'm not going into the debate anymore about AIR's poor support and lack of info when it comes to compatible updates. We all know it by now. I've waited a long time to make the switch from Mojave to Catalina, just before Big Sur will be available. During that time I tried to figure out how I could still use my Creative FX Collection Plus tools. The problem would be the installer. So here's what I came up with.

Still on Mojave, I checked the installer with Pacifist to see what elements belong in which folder, including:

    Apps
    Library - Application Support
    Library - Audio - Plug-Ins - AU
    Library - Audio - Plug-Ins - VST
    Library - Extensions
    Library - Frameworks
    Library - LaunchDaemons
    Library - PrivilegedHelperTools
User - Shared - Moved parts - Security - System - Library (Catalina)
    User - Library - Audio - Presets

I saved all the files and placed them in the above folders on Catalina. When doing this I realized that - for me at least, because I'm a Logic Pro X user - only the elements in AU and Apps were necessary. The others are mostly iLok related, but you already have those files installed when using License Manager (or just won't need them).

Anyway, everything works after restart and the AUvaltool validating process. So I guess this will also work with other AIR plug-ins. The only problem is that you have to save all the files on a previous OS. I also didn't do that with Sonivox stuff for example so I can't use Film Score Companion anymore. Luckily I could 'safe' the Creative FX Collection Plus tools. For now.

Hope this helps a bit for others!

Best way is to boykott theses arrogant AIR guys who do not care about their customeres.
Yeah their stuff is cheap in $$$ value und quality of code.
I dont want to compromise my systems stability with this crap.

But some sounds are nice, but what do we have from graet sound if we cant edit it properly with their broken tiny GUIs ? And ten we have something playing and sudenly crash :) lol nope

I totally agree! They also sell/promote their stuff while not warning about incompatible tools. That's bad.
Anyway, I'm still in the 'find the best alternatives' zone when it comes to the FX collection because I really like a lot of them, especially the modulation effects. So I'm glad I can do my A/B'ing now on latest OS. But eventually, everything will be replaced yes (which also means taking my loss because I paid way too much for it, unfortunately).

It is really a shame that they stop improving their software.
I really Love the Tabbed layout of Structure and its very nice sounding effects.
But I dislike that its broken GUI and that they are unreliable

I recently upgraded to Big Sur and none of their Plugins work any longer. That's probably why they wer floged off for dirt cheap on pluginboutique in these last years. I have their FX Bundle, the riser, Xpand, Loom II and Hybrid instruments.

Hmm, so we finally figured out how to install them correctly on Catalina but the plug-ins (AU/VST/AAX) itself won't work anymore at Big sur? That's bad. I have to admit, knowing how everything turned out due to these sh*tbirds, I way overpaid their tools

Haven't tested your method since I didn't understand anything mentioned in the link – it was too cryptic for me. All I can say is, that I tried installing AIR plugins and either the installers didn't work or the plugins didn't work after installing. Fuck AIR anyways. I had so many bad experiences with them, that I feel ashamed that this a german company.

Speaking of it, another German company is even worse: Vengeance Plugins! Literally non-existant support and no updates/fixes for ages. They even don't answer to emails.
    I mean :wtf:
Still they advertise Black Friday and Christmas discounts even if their stuff doesn't work on newer systems!
