My god this thing sounds amazing. Had no idea this was also being sold as a separate vst from the MPC.

I'm trying the demo out at the moment and I'm blown away. Easily sets the bar for me as the most convincing "retro" sounding plugin available. I occasionally use RC20 when making drum brakes, but this is on a different level. On drums it sounds amazing, lifts everything up, gets things to smack and sit in the mix perfectly. It even has emulation presets for older Akai reel to reels, MPCs, SP1200, vinyl.

Thanks for the heads up, this looks very promising. I had no idea they made this. I love my tape emulation plugins so much. An Akai version of that would be next level since I'm always using Akaizer.

I'm 66 and started recording on a 1964 Dual reel-to-reel because I got it in a garage sale and was too poor to afford a Revox A-77.
Used sound-on-sound for up to 12 tracks dealing with hiss, fading out and other analog tape artifacts.
Thanked god when computer multitracking came out and now people want to put the same shit into their tracks that I was desperately trying to remove half a century ago.
    De-evolution.

Hahahaha! I totally get you sir, but surely you must have heard that what comes aroung goes around? Fads never really die, they just come back around, eventually. Personally I love that this bit of nostalgia is resurfacing again. Tape plugins are a lot of fun and somehow make things sit better in my mix sometimes.

Nostalgia is a helluva drug!

I think it just depends on how you use it. I'm not into the whole lo-fi fad thing going on at the moment, but I do like some of the things this plugin does. Particularly the distortion section for beefing up drum breaks which I think sounds fantastic. And it can also color the sound in a very pleasant way for just about anything you run through it. Yes, it can do the whole overdone lo-fi stuff if that's the vibe you're after, but used it in a conservative manner, I think this plugin really shines. It really does give flat sterile sounds a color and polish that I havent heard from other plugins.

make me think about all the sound I've cut out of my tracks.
I probably have been throwing away the good stuff, there is no other explanation.
