I want to create an 'Air Buss' to push sounds like airy synths and drums into, so some transients and some sustains.

Any ideas what Compressor will work well on airy sounds? Or would I be better with something else?

My thinking is to kind of lift the air in the track separately from the rest. I'm Brauerizing everything else by types, Sustains, Transients, Drums and Leads and this is like an extra Buss where I'm not really sure where to push the 'Air' stuff.

I've been visualising dimensions to help me get a feel of mixing and I might already have a decent setup and understanding now, so it might not be essential now and they might fit into the Busses I already have, but I'd still like to write it off as not working if that's the case, kind of try it out and find that its better going into the other Busses.

So I'm looking for a Compressor or maybe Saturation that is ideal for controlling the whole 'Air' of the mix, like 8k up and kind of separate it off. The 4 Brauer Busses have a similar effect of gluing things dimensionally.

    Does that all make sense?

Okay, think I got the idea.
I'd use FabFilter Pro-C 2 in Mastering mode for that, and then some gentle soft-clipping and EQ.

One thing to look out for is the mids on that buss. You might wanna use sidechain EQ on Pro-C 2 for scooping them out so compressor detection hears less of them, and then scoop them for real with EQ before clipping.
