I too have been suffering for the past few months (albeit from a different pathology) from a phenomenon called: trigger finger (middle finger right hand).
I have tried everything but I think I will have to undergo surgery to open the finger and free the sheath.
Maybe after Christmas.

Cause

The cause of this disease is not always clear. Systemic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout or hormonal changes and metabolic diseases such as diabetes can promote its development. Local trauma with swelling of the hand (e.g. crush injuries) or operations on the hand can also cause a trigger finger. In most cases, however, the cause remains unclear

Conservative treatment

If discovered at an early stage, treatments without surgical intervention can often bring about a cure. The aim of treating a trigger finger is to eliminate the constriction at the entrance to the tendon canal and thus the chronic inflammation. Anti-inflammatory drugs can bring about an improvement in the early stages. However, if the symptoms persist for a longer period of time, this is usually no longer sufficient.

A local cortisone injection at the entrance to the tendon canal is then often very effective and can significantly improve or cure the symptoms for a longer period of time. If these measures do not lead to an improvement, surgical intervention can be performed.
