So, I cracked a few plugins using a keygenerator or a crack. However after sometime like a few months, the plugins stop working and need a new "reactivation". It happened for example with Xfer Serum. Is there a way to stop this, so I don't have to activate them again, only do it once? Why does this happen and can I somehow disable the internet connection of these plugins or anything like that?

You could use a Firewall or something like Zonealarm to stop Phoning Home from your Plugins. There are different Reasons, Internet Checkups, Timebombs, maybe it's not really Cracked and after the official Trial Period it Stops Working... Best thing is that your Audio Machine has no Internet Connection at all...

I have my network disconnect icon next to my Reaper icon and NEVER open my DAW till the message pops up on my screen saying you are now disconnected from the network , it takes two seconds , just make it a habit ...................

 

you used keygen or crack to register software. software was cracked by other people before you find it and download it.

ok, cracked (with modified code) software don't need any legit/fake registration data (90% cracked software) and can not be activated and (ta-dam) can not be deactivated.
but there are exceptions, for example studio one - this daw connecting to server and checking license at every startup. after this you can not activate studio one before you delete some files.
software without code modification check registration at servers too (but not all). if was used stolen data (carders buying some uncracked software to share it) - license will be deactivated. if was used fake data from keygen - will be deactivated too.

so... if you used modified software that don't need any registration data (install and use) check software options - maybe it have auto-update function.
if you used keygen/serial number/keyfile for software, but don't saw any messages about non-legit copy the answer maybe in auto-update too.
or you changed your computer configuration - cpu, gpu, network adapter, size of partitions at hdd, serial numbers of hardware or other. in this case system fingerprint was changed and any hardware based protection delete non-working activation data and need new registration.

 

If you are using windows, for your information, some windows updates mess up some plugins and you need to reactivate them. Try to reactivate them with keygen and if the problem still persists do a clean uninstall and then reinstall . Hope this will help.

Yes, my problem was that I have to reactivate them again and again (after some time). I wanted to avoid this, so I just have to activate them once or reinstall only once.

It happened to me twice. Whick plugins are causing the problem and how many times did you encouter this ?

 

With recent badly cracked versions of Serum (and other Xfer products) it needed to be blocked with a firewall. Otherwise somehow it checks the serial number and then opens the Xfer homepage asking you to buy Serum.
