    Hey Guys,

I used to work with Emagic Logic until a few years ago, now my Mac is too
old and i just bought a more or less high end PC. Now my question.
I am not really a cubase fan, so i am looking for some DAW close to
logic. I checked Samplitude, which i kind of like, but i think the
    price is a bit high.

So any good suggestions for a decent alternative to logic??

I am into dance and trance production.

I stopped producing about 6 years ago due to private matters, but now
i wanna get back into thinkls.. what about VST3?? Which DAW besides
    Sonar X3 supports it?

    Thanks for your response.

Man, demo them all. Do as much demos as possible. Reaper, Live, Studio One, FL. Try them all out.

studio one all day i have tried all of them and cant shake studio one seems to be the fastest setting up midi controls drag and drop and the list goes on...............and on.... projects tab song tab think you can switch between 10 different songs at one time its crazy and the learning curve is very easy

Studio One, or Reaper are a good choice! But if you got a good PC, install Mac OSX and continue using Logic. :mates:

Studio One: innovative features but incredibly unstable (for some) as you're finding out now...

The only issue I have with S1 at the moment is that some of the vst's cause it to crash, especially with the latest version, the previous version wasn't as bad. The Blue screen could be a graphic card issue, I think there was a post in another topic which linked back to S1 Forum discussing how to optimize your pc to improve S1 performance, graphic issues was definitely one of the problem areas I believe, try reducing your graphics card resolution, colour depth, etc.

you could dual boot your pc and have OSX running as well, easier with an intel pc but I think AMD machines can now install OSX but is a bit more tricky in getting it to run

Studio One user for a years right now, never had any problem or bug. start from 2.5 to 2.6 and waiting for 2.6.1.
    1)learning curve so easy
    2)drag & drop everything
    3)store & reload chains,vst,preset
4)easy to set up bus,fx,routing with 0 latency (tried with photosounder splineq)
5)cpu friendly (the track i'm working now has 50 tracks with 3 to 10 plugins each channel)
5)fast editing on audio and midi
6)record midi from my cheap m-audio 49 (i'm not a pianist) & quantize it right
7)Trasform instruments back & forth midi and audio (for save cpu)
8)melodyne ara version (sonar x3 developers like it) :D

tried FL 10&11, ableton 8&9, Cubase 5.5, Pro Tools 10

I mean you can do good music with every daw but for me S1 fit well my style of work. So you had to try the demo versions and find wich daw is right for you. Just my opinion

    Win7 x64 i3 550 3.20 ghz 4 gb ram, S1 2.6 x86

Unstable??? I used Hackintosh for almost 4 years until I bought a second hand 2 x 2.26 Quad Mac Pro. I can say it is much much stable than any ugly Windows. No virus issues to deal with etc. I don't know why you had troubles my friend.

    Cheers *yes*
