If you're a organization freak (like me) you'll probably like this free-ware program to batch rename your files.
It's very easy to use and they offer a portable version as well. I use it all the time to batch rename my files and folders (mostly audio)
or to add extra information (like Bass, Lead, Style, etc).

I hope you find it useful!

bulk rename utility is far more advanced, and its free.
I have yet to find one more functional.

Is it any mac alternative to "bulk rename" around? :grooves:

(in the first instace) Not a tydiness freak myself but pretty aware of the need a of good organitation while developping whatever.

Yes!!! After trying many others for years I've been lately using Bulk Rename (since a good friend told me about it 2 years ago) and it beats all others hands down. Definitely recommended! :)

    Interesting topic.

I have tried several batch renamers, although I haven't tried advanced renamer or bulk rename utility yet (I just downloaded them), and by far the best one I have found is Ron's Renamer

I also use a VBScript file that replaces all underscores "_" with spaces " " in the directory it is in.

I confirm with @El Moreno. ABFR is a very fast, stable and explicit tool for Mac.

"Audio Finder" is another Mac tool especially for the reorganization of Audio Samples. It has a built in single and bulk renamer, which can add BPM and MIDI Keys to the name, if wanted.

Thnx fellas. I've known about batch renamers for a while but never got around to it. I've started using 'A Better Finder Rename' and I'm loving it.

    Kudos to all of you

it's not perfect, but it's very simple and does the job.
