So I installed the X-force Audition (the latest one); but, some things are confusing.

When I start my mbp, the creative-cloud icon is always up in the top-right area of the screen (next to wi-fi) etc. I have been "quitting" the process prior to going online...

    1) Is it ok for me to go online with it still running?

    2) Is there a way to stop it from starting-up / stop it from running at all?..and is there a benefit to that?.. or is it bad?

    thanks

    Q: Is Internet Connection Safe?
A: Not at all, Adobe is bitchy with homecalls.

You have to edit the host file adding these addresses to blocked list, I advise you to use GasMask
as the terminal way is a little difficult if you're not familiar with it.

    Good luck

first off... the host file.. that's the one that might look like this?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ##
    # Host Database

    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.

    127.0.0.1 hlrcv.stage.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When installing Audition and everything, I added the info above that is in bold and underlined to the host-file (as the install/.nfo instructions specified)...

Should the X-force instruction specify more blocked websites?... such as what you have listed?

Because, in the install instructions, after installing, doing offline activation, and adding the websites I have underlined above to the host-file, users are then told to go back on to the net and update to the latest version of Audition from Adobe website... which I did... and everything works fine... If I would have added all of your websites that you've listed, would I have been able to update the Audition software?

I´ve been using a combination of Core - & X-Force KeyGen plus a dll (I know...) for unlocking the Master Collection CS6. Updates are working fine and the firewall goes easy.

    Yeah, that's the host file.
that list I posted is the list for all-around CS6 host blocking,
some addresses may not be needed if you just use Audition,
but it doesn't hurt to add every address you know of.
Addresses changes between versions, some are not needed anymore, some are new.
So put in all addresses I posted + those sideshowbob posted if they're not in my list and you should be golden.

awesome guys!!! thank you so much.

but still.... is there a way to turn-off that creative cloud thing so that the icon does not appear up top every time i boot-up?.. or is that there for good (as long as I have some kind of Adobe product)?

what do you mean?... "... and the firewall goes easy."

Uh ok, so it's a process launched by the app itself, not a login item.
Mmm dunno, are you sure it can't be disabled in Audition preferences?
There are ways to kill the process after launch like the automator app I did to kill Ableton indexing,
but I would try other solutions first

I meant no homecalls or reset to demo after update...
Often it`s good to be a bit more paranoid but...
Why do you choose the Creative Cloud version if you are so concerned about it?
For the CC features you have to sign up and pay a fee, I just don`t know if there is an additional risk with an inactive CC, but I guess not.
    As a recommendation: Use VPN.
