Hi. I own a laptop HP 250 G5 with screen 1920 x 1080 and with built-in VGA socket 2560x1200 at 60hz. Of course. What a monitor can I add with such a non-standard resolution of VGA card? Are HP mad? I could find a monitor 2560x1440 or 1920/1600x1200. Any ideas about how can I expand my set up with the monitor? Of course, HDMI socket is built as well with 1920x1080 resolution. I would like to see more things on the screen. This is for Abl Live 10.

Yes, it may be nonsense. There are quite a few HDMI versions. This one looks like v1.0. The HP specs say:
    “External:
HDMI: Port supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 external resolution at 60 Hz
VGA: Port supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1200 external resolution at 60 Hz”

A vga/hdmi adaptor, vga-hdmi cable or vga-dual-dvi should get you there, though i don't know if you'll get above 1920x1080 on vga... Are you sure it's not the hdmi port that supports 2560x1200 and not the vga? Perhaps an erroneous tech spec entry in the user manual?..

You could set the VGA monitor to a different resolution and not the max 2560x1200.
There are also VGA to HDMI adapters which would open up your options a bit. Paul beat me to it.
2560x1200 is not a standard resolution.

@Paul Pi "vga-dual-dvi". What? Can I connect two extra monitors??? It's very interesting.
