    Hello everyone,

I need knowledgeable suggestions please :)
I've narrowed my options to ADAM Audio T7V 7 inch or Kali Audio IN-8 V2 8-inch monitors. Which would you choose for a home studio? My home studio is big enough( Big living Room in basement) with furniture and acoustic panels.

Do you think a subwoofer is necessary?

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Personally I don't find sub necessary with my 8" speakers, plenty of low end for my taste. Kali out of two, not a big fan of Adam audio signature, tastes and all that, but sucker for coaxial's.

There's new Presonus coaxials in that price range, Eris Pro, maybe worth checking out, but you can't go wrong with those Kali's for sure.

    • ADAM Audio T8V
    • Yamaha HS8
Kali Audio IN-8 V or ADAM Audio T8V would be my choice among the three.

With either 7s or 8s, a sub isn't absolutely necessary. You will usually end up turning it off anyway when you are actively working on something. If you are buying new, it's not like you are going to get a deal buying both speakers and sub at the same time. Used, possibly. Get the sub later after you hear what the monitors are going to work like in the room. If you are making bass music, you will want one to check what you have going on down there.

I thought about the Yamaha HS8 but the only draw back is the ports being on the back.

    thank you

    Awesome
This is going to be a big change for me because it's been a while since I've changed my listening environment.
    I appreciate the insight.

I've heard those Adam speakers are really hyped sounding (kinda like KRKs) rather than cleaner/neutral... Can anyone attest to that?

I have had the T7V in my 12m2 room for 3 years and I am totally satisfied...Adam Audio is a world of its own.
I wanted to buy Rokit or Yamaha at first, but the sound is better for producing/mixing or just listening to music or watching movies in my opinion.
I decided against buying a sub.

Personally I find their top end too much for my taste, low end rattle was annoying also, not my cup of tea.

@8:32, he's speaking about top range Adams tho, so yeah
