SSL 4000 is a very unique tone and sounds great to many of us, thus we crave having it in a plugin form. That said Sand 4 Ultra is a backward step from the SSL 4000 tone of Sand 3, let alone actual hardware. Sand 4 Ultra is too damn clean, it's close in sound to an algo plugin than actual SSL hardware.
