Dont makes much sense... At least in my situation. I buy some good but not perfect monitors. My next money will be spend on software.

i seen all kind of comments about krk monitors, me myself i have vxt 8's and i like them very much, but i have to be honest, i never really tried other brands then krk. what are your opinions about these monitors, it seems everybody has an opinion about them, so i'm really curious what you guys think of them. are they really that bad in your eyes? and for the op, i used to have rokit 5's before these and they are great too especially in a small bedroom, i tend to turn my vxt's down a whole lot because i feel they overpower my room if you understand what i mean.. so yeah my advice is go for rokits

 

Im not so sure about the Rokits anymore... Some say great sound and others say they boost. And I dont want them to boost...

The more I search for information about monitors, the more I get the feeling that it doesnt really matter in the end because every monitor adulterate the sound in a different way. And if not they are just fucking expensive.
And equator increase their prices for the D5s... Just wondering why they do that? Without any reason? Makes me dont want to buy them, just because they were cheaper before...

 

well the Rokits are the ones you should stay away from for sure unless you're just making beats

I thank Yahweh I have a large sized finished basement area for my studio room.

Check out the Yamaha studio monitors and also HS 80.

 

Check out Dynaudio BM50, or better BM6, if you can, and I would rather go for KRK VXT-6, not Rokit series, as I've heard it and it's got weird and a bit too distorted and not well represented bass, and so I've heard from some other people, too. Genelec 8030A are great nearfields, too. Fostex PM series and Yamaha HS-50 gives you great bang for the buck, and that includes KRK VXT-6s, too. It would be the best to listen to as many of them as you can in a demo centre, with a few tracks you really know well, and then decide. With 500EU per pair, you do have a nice choice, but 700EU would be much better as that's the sweetest spot for buying good monitors these days.

Im able to buy a pair of Mackie Hr824 Mk2 for 700€, as far as I know these monitors are really good and 700€ for both of them with guarantee till september 2014 is a really good offer. Should I buy them?

 

if your budget is up to 500..honestly go for the best at that price range, check out the Genelec 6010a..they are outstanding monitors and I use them in my studio..huge, crisp, clean, uncompromised sound for such a small footprint. They are extremely high quality as well, the material is excellent, they are small yet heavy and durable..check them out you won't be disappointed they are amazing, probably better than anything else in their size and price range in my opinion.

I've got the Yamaha HS80m's and they are wonderful.
I have used Genelecs, Dynaudios and krk's.
But none of them were as clear sounding as these. (Not that I wouldnt go for Genelecs or Dyn's if you would have the money)
KRK's sound terrible in mid and low.
As of mixing, the lows are the hardest in my opinion.
But I would recommend getting an extra sub, you can get some good subs even second hand.

 

I buy the Mackie HR824, no sub needed
500€ for used ones, fair price I think...

 

I finally choosed the Equator D5's Xsze recommended.

someone! with five undread euros i would get yamaha hs80 there like the famous hs10 but more afordable every producer has hs10 in the studio even if they have other ones. but the hs10 there the best in that price range

 

youve probably got them all ready yeahh? so wich ones did you get. in that price range i would of got the hs80. you dont need sub with thease!!

I send back the D5's and finaly went with M-Audio BX8 D2, only 300€ and Im pretty satisfied with them, I think these are great beginner-monitors. Maybe I will buy some better in a few years, when Im ready to appreciate it

 

ohh dam ok. well thats exactly what im after some close up active monitors. on a low budget. what music a re you producing someone?
ive read alott that the rokits versions arnt really that good in low end. so its between some cheap m audio monitors or fostex . im just getting some 5 inch for my small room. and at t he end of the day i think any monitors that ill get will be better than how im producing now with my hifi ones. on last thing..
is three way monitors better than two way?

 

I produce Hip Hop, influenced by many different genres...

The bass of a 8inch is enough for me, the M-Audio have a good low end. Hoewever, if you produce any kind of real deep music, like deep minimal or deep dubstep, you should proberly consider either monitors with a rich low end (perhabs with a subwoofer) or buying good monitors, but also keep a hifi setup with a rich bass. Thats actually exactly what I do: producing on my M-Audio, then take a good listen on my HiFi Setup and in the car of my father. Because in both cases I really hear the lower frequencys.

I dont think three way monitors are atomaitcly better, like coaxial isnt autamitcly better... Depends on the monitor.

Just consider your options and choose what you think is the best. In the end it doesnt matter that much if you go with m-audio, yamaha, dynaudio, or whatever... It will be a big improvement, and you will learn to train your ears. Most likely you will end up like me, listening to your stuff on every monitor and headphones you can get

But seriously, if you know your different systems (in my case my studio monitors, my hifi setup, the two cars of my parents, my studio headphones and my normal headphones) and your tracks sound everywhere like you expected them to sound, you did the right job
