you can add a global folder with all your libraries (based on nicnt detection)
it will go faster than one by one.

thumbnails of the NKS menu need a PAResource extract and rebuild (it is a few long to do)

you have to install inNKX files in a fixed folder location, to get it working directlly from total commander everytime.
the first opening use the temp folder (deleted on close or cleaning)

the rack view menu will load graphics directlly (if official NKS nicnt files) from LibBrowser.png
or you can use wallpaper instead, it will replace the embeded graphic
the thumbnail view need MST artwork.png to be placed in C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image\Library name
it need a little experiment with kontakt environement and total commander testing.

a time consuming activity. and not allways well extracted from setup installers, you have to repair it like this.
the NI repair method is made for installed libraries with PAResources in programs/common files
but extracted libraries come's without this part, it need a nicnt hack to extract the graphics.

shitty but makable.

I've just upgraded to a new laptop (MSI Vector 17 HX A13VHG, i9-13980HX, 64gb RAM) and every time I try and open Kontakt 7.10.1 (portable, VST3 version) in Cubase 13 R2R version it crashes. The laptop is brand new so there is no reason for this to be happening but I cannot figure out what is causing it. It happens with all projects, old and new. The VST2 version gets auto-blocked by Cubase so using that is not an option. The standalone version opens fine although the outputs are weird - 1&2 are my headphones for some reason and 3&4 are the onboard speakers. Maybe that needs to be changed somehow?

 

kontakt portable cannot be placed in "program files".
choose another place for kontakt portable folder (preferably on another disk).

 

I've had it in Program Files on two other computers prior to this one and never had a problem with it being there. I'll give it a try but I don't expect this will solve the issue

Well I stand corrected, moving it to a different location worked just like you said. I still don't really understand why it can't be in Program Files but thank you for suggesting it!

 

because "Program Files" is a system folder and required administrator permissions to read/write files by any app in the same folder.

 

Slayer99...and anyone else having issues with your libraries from Kontakt 7 not being found in Kontakt 8.

Go to the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products” was hidden. I had to type it in and press enter to get to it on my system and delete the old *.json files. Once this is done, make sure any unused kontakt libraries are no longer in the registry.

Re-run the "Kontakt_Button.exe" in the Kontakt 8 folder and re-register your libraries. After this is done.. open Kontakt 8 and it should be fixed.

I have Heavyocity - Master Session Ensemble Drums. It doesnt have a .nicnt file. I downloaded the new nicnt generator v2.1. The SNPID number is 697. How do I make a .nicnt file so I can register it in Kontakt Manager and open it in Kontakt 8.1.0?

 

WTF? Maybe better looking for official nicnt file?

 

when the generated nicnt have no HU & JDX data

you can open NativeAccess.xml to get the official data.

then you can add the value to your nicnt with a not destructive text editor

now if you add the nicnt, kontakt 7/8 will see it.
you can also add these value only in regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Master Sessions Ensemble Drums
but it is better to include it in the nicnt, share, re install or move will works directlly.

without HU & JDX data , official library will not be taken by kontakt.
all the usefull infos are located in NativeAccess.xml

i checked the nicnt generator 2.1 and HU & JDX are not generated inside. it only add the regedit location more. not done directlly in the previous.
you can also copy paste all the xml code from <product version = ?> to </product> directlly. and replace the generated nicnt content it will works.

official products need these data, home made not.

Hey, may be a dumb question, but I think I'm too stupid to figure this out; I'm currently using Bob Dule's Kontakt 7.10.7, and I've installed the Kontakt Factory Library 2. got it working, but it was on my C: drive (had no space), so I moved it into a folder on my D: drive. now Kontakt wont let me delete the old factory library, it says "Library not found. Click 'Manage Libraries' and set content via native access" I'm wondering if there's a tool I'm not seeing that'll help me stop kontakt from searching the old directory?

no. this file don't using during install. it is database with SNPID's that need to be copied after installation.
just read R2R.txt and follow instructions.
but better - install bobdule version and f*** your brain.

 

I think you misunderstood. Why is it showing MS browser icone?

because your "xml" file associations are not set up.
but this still does not affect the kontakt installation.
