When i was receiving the info from Sunny for one reason to help other people I've met in Africa this summer
The info is that if you have omnisphere 1 already you can use only The DVD N8 (LAST DVD) to update to omnisphere 2

PS : I want to share this great info with other members here in our community (only if anyone was wondering how to do it)

 

Are you sure Mr Amine? because when I install Omnisphere 2 over existing Omnisphere, the (Windows) installer claims for all 8 discs and installs all STEAM content over (with 2015 timestamps). Soundsource .db files have different timestamps 2008 to 2015 (but maybe they are the same files, only MD-5/SHA-1 compare can confirm if they're identical or not).

They're around 15 Go of more data between O1 and O2, on single DVD-DL (DVD8) 8GB disc, it's strange... IMO

I'M Waiting For confirmation from The people of Africa to try that because they want to update from omnisphere 1 to omnisphere 2

PS : i couldn't help them by my self cause i have already legit omnisphere 2 on my machine & i didn't want to screw that up by installing other Omnisphere from the beginning

 

If you have the legit version of omnisphere 2 why don´t you just ask the spectrasonics support about this?
This information would be helpful to many people, especially those with a slow internet connection

The difference between omnisphere 1 and omnisphere 2 is 20 GB Almost 3 DVDS If We Count Right

and I'M Asking How to get 20 GB out of those 8 DVDS , Cause A Lot of People i know want to know about the update only

PS : I have the 20 GB But To Upload it i need 20 Days

because I'M in Africa now and the uploading is 1GB/1Day & Downloading is 2MB/S

 

I don't know which one is the installer you're talking about,
but I can tell for sure that the updater from v1 to v2, available from Spectrasonics for people
who bought the upgrade from v1, is about 20GB, can't remember exactly, maybe it's 19GB, maybe it's 21GB.
Surely is not only 15GB. Sorry I'm out on mobile and can't log to the server to check size right now.

EDIT: @MrAmine: I've read now your post, no way you can get those 20GB out of the full 8DVDs set.
Not without going through massive frustration and cursing for hours to separate the new content

 

Well, since the update from v1 to v2 is availible as one 18.2gb upgrade maybe that is what people want then?

 

yes you right copylefter is frustration work , but it will be a great thing if we see an update only on audioz of omnisphere 2

I read this post before installing and after installing each disk I checked the size of the omnisphere folder and it was getting bigger after each disk - 79gb (with all the packs for v1) and 91gb after install of disk 7 before even getting to the disk 8 you referred to.

 

we talk about the actual ISO Files between omnisphere 1 & omnisphere 2 Before You Install It

the size you describe is for omnisphere + Trilian

maybe omnisphere 2 update is occupied the half of DVD N°6 + (DVD N°7 & DVD N°8)

 

Omnisphere and Omnisphere 2 installs (each install was done on FRESH Windows 7, after OS restoration), no Trilian, no Bob Moog Tribute Library, no 3rd party addons...
Sizes of STEAM folder installed on my system (don't include plugins).

- Omnisphere 1: 42.3 GB (with all official O1 updates)
- Omnisphere 2: 55.4 GB (including Step 2 Data Updater)

Difference: 13.1 GB

- Can't fit on single DVD-R DL, it's not possible!
- Two DVD-R DL are required for "difference", it's the main reason why O1 fits on 6 discs, O2 on 8 discs...
- On provided DVDs (both Omnisphere 1 and Omnisphere 1), please remeber all STEAM library files aren't compressed.
