and? thats great, i dont really care lol. The grammy's have been a joke for years now. I legit forgot they were happening until i saw this thread, and i live in LA, and am in sessions regularly with working songwriters and artist. It used to be that in the weeks leading up to the ceremony, its all we would talk about, who's nommed, who's going to win, what parties we going to, blah blah blah, not any more. It wasnt brought up once this year, and funny enough i was in a session with a nominated writer just a week or two ago. Granted, we had the fires, and thats sort of all anybody was talking about for a while. Or trump / politics. Still, it used to hold more value. Of course, its still holds value in some sense, but its not what it used to be. Besides, I simply stated my opinion on the matter, and stand by it. Four tet should have won best dance / electronic album. The other two for sure should have gone to her, and they did. Not sure what else she was nommed for or if she won, but if she did win more, good for her.

 

Last night as well as for a Latin Grammy my wife's godson, Luca Brown was nominated as a producer for Kali Uches's ORQUÍDEAS bid in the category Best Latin Pop Album. When Luca was 12 I bought him his very first multi-track recorder, the mightily horrible sounding little Tascam 424. He was estactic to have it...and the rest is history.

I take all credit for his career.

awesome!! congrats! love that tascam. i still have mine from when i was a teen.

 

Luca's one of the nicest guys around and is a great talent. He's worked really hard and has now reached a level where he can reap the benefits of his his years of study at Berkeley and then doing the low rung work that has brought him to where he is today. We're all immensely proud of him!
