I have read so many of these mystery tests about how people have tested different audio engines (over a decade now) and most of the time it always comes down to a problem in executing.

And yet another of these topic how XY DAW sounds Z ...

Ableton comes with a phaser fx by default on master out, for more headroom.

The solution has already been provided. You should study the manuals more carefully before making threads as a customer outraged by a product malfunction.
"Customer" is also an improper term: I guess you didn't even buy Ableton

the solutions been provided before or in this thread?

and also threads like this would prob be better for those that think maybe there might be something to it ,n try see if it can be worked out, i think all null tests n different things have been tried before . prob something else then, no idea what ,but nothing wrong with trying to figure out what it could be, even if we cant work it out. Those who have been here before with this and don't wanna hear of it spoke of again, cool , ignore the thread. I hear it a lot with people i work with n i never mention anything ,they usually ask me why it sounds like it does ,n a lot have ended up leaving it n working with logic or cubase instead mainly because of, they're words "the sound!"
If peeps think its fine and there nothing in it cool, same goes if peeps think it sounds a bit different cool, but it will always get brought up as people try different daws.

Ableton's integrated audio generating and processing plugins sound different than others? duh

Summing test nulls with other daws? that means the visual interface its making you hear things that are just not there. No other explanation.

Also has much better latency compensation than Logic for example, which is what could cause phase issues and smearing

People who dont hear a difference probably also think a real 1073 sounds the same as a vst emulation lol. Just ignore the thread if you get in your feelings

Is there anyway you can demonstrate your claim? Because if you can provide some sort of evidence, perhaps your thread won't be derailed. Just as you said earlier, why should we trust some random guy on the internet?

Anyway, if it sounds bad, there ought to be some way you can record the results, no? Open it in an analyzer & compare with the output of Logic Pro or whatever. Do your own null test and provide the results. I mean, talk is cheap and I'd love for you to prove everyone wrong here.

@Grater Are you sure nobody noticed your finding already before? I mean fucked/phasey transients. Ableton Users would have reported immediately to Ableton Team and this would actual be a reason to claim your money back.
So i doubt you found anything, which stands any test done by others.

How long do you use Live? For me its 13+ years now and i have Auto wrapping turned off by default. Next time mind giving your testing algorithm a bit more thought or consult long time users of the DAWs!

Plus there are also lots of songs produced everyday with Live, which just sound right and where people did not have phasey transients.

Flying Lotus and Monte Booker (both people who rely heavily on transients) say the same thing. They don't use technical terms though and say things like " it smacks more" instead. There are many other famous professional producers who say this by the way. David Kahne also says that Cubase is "in Phase". That's a guy whose ears I trust more than randoms spouting platitudes.
Funnily enough, everytime it gets brought up in the ableton forums (there are alot of threads By the way) people start to get emotional and attack the OP, saying he's stupid or is using it wrong LOL. Sound familiar? Classic case of gas lighting. Either these people's sound cards are shitty or they are gas lighting themselves. It is very obvious if you have both DAWs open at the same time

Please address my challange to simply record results and provide evidence. It shouldn't be difficult at all.

What solution are you referring to? Again: did you have both open at the same time, playing back the same file or are you just spouting what you heard online without ever comparing it yourself?
Be honest. It's ok to admit faults, just don't be precious about it.

In addition to the ones above, imagine that some of these people that are shown the null test between daws still insist they hear "smaller image", "less transients" or whatever mush passing through their heads at that time. The amount of incompetence in audio these days is unprecedented.

I'm referring to the live ( as in state of being played, not the brand name) playback engine not the actual offline bounce. That's something that is hard to "compare". I'm not even talking about summing.

Ok, can you not use another piece of software to record the live output?

That would mean you are still using live's playback engine, which is the whole point: why does it sound so phasey and flat?
I'm not looking for alternatives, I'm asking WHY it sounds the way it does. Just google: you can find many threads of people complaining about this and others gas lighting them saying it's in their head LOL

I am not saying it is in your head. I am saying that there ought to be a way to demonstrate this. Seriously, put the same exact audio in Logic and use a third-party software or hardware to record the output. Do the exact same thing using Live's playback engine and compare the results. This shouldn't be difficult.

If there is something going on as you say, there really ought to be a way to capture it at some end of the chain and compare it. If you want to make a technical claim, create a technical control situation and demonstrate your results.
