Ableton all day baby

 

I do..... now have.... a fucking PUSH 2!

Got one used in Excellent condition for $300... didn't come with a power adapter so had to (for no reason other than impatience) run up to Walmart and buy a damn 25 dollar universal, which, when setup properly, powered it right up!

That said, i tell u what.. this thing is DEEP.. get ready for a multi-month trial and error session.

Other than that, IT is fucking GORGEOUS and has renewed, immediately my creative urge!

As far as Push 3 goes.. for the price differential, i could care less about 'Standalone' or MPE or having a built in audio interface..already have one of course.

Aaaand.. The Push3 pads.. are ugly as sin.

If you want my advice.. if you can afford it.. 10 years after release, this piece of gear is still brand new and mine at least DID have the latest firmware so, all the way to Live 12.4, I am up to date!`

3 Nuts is about $300 ryt?

You paid 300bucks? that is a good deal.

 

Push 2 is still a great tool! I sold one for 350 recently, and still have an old one with dead screen. Might repair that one day. An equally good deal is a Maschine MK3 under 250. Together, they are amazing.

 

Damn it! Now you got me wanting a Maschine as well!

 

Plastic of my Push2 became sticky, same as my old Windows Dell XPS laptop. Looks like common problem of that soft touch plastic. What you guys use for cleaning that? looks like it is not easy to do with spirit only.

 

Got one for sale, barely used mostly sat in the box. Couldn't get on with it for my workflow. $250 I'll pay shipping in USA.

 

Which plastic are you referring to? I'd like to get ahead of any potential issues

 

I think it's about the silicon like semi lucent soft touch buttons of the P2 "keyboard".
When you place some type of plastic in direct sunlight or for a long time to indirect sunlight it degrades due to UV rays and plastic softeners gas out of the compound making the plastic ugly sticky.

 

The only really downer of PUSH 2 is that the surface gets very sticky and nasty. It's hard to almost impossible to clean it properly.
If wasn't for that would be perfect.
I got a push2 in 2022 used in the box mint with the stickers untouched for a bargain.
Although with heavily usage the problem I'm talking about will appear and you will see that its what people complain on forums.
Anyway have a lot of fun because its a great controller

 

Thing is. I got mine used.. the top, the front 'surface of it was flawless, but the sides and teh bottom were CAKED with glue like thivck stickyness.

So how could teh pads on top be causing that?? Its almost like they used a different material on sides and bottom and its literally 'melting'

Yet NOTHING at all.. on top? So how could it be the buttons or pads?

Can't figure it out, so very odd.

 

At least THAT is not normal.

Plastci contains so called softeners that make them - as the name suggests - softer otherwise they would be getting harder and harder like glass and finally break like glass.
But in your case it's the other way round. It got softer.

I only can guess that it's because the sellter tried to clean it with the wrong liquid like acetone or sth

 

I solved this problem by mixing two simple ingredients - baking soda and coconut oil and rubbing them in with a rag. Just a small amount, equal ratio. The baking soda does the scrubing of the residue, the oil helps coagulate and prevents a crummy mess. Just be careful around creases, and have a tooth-pick and cotton swab available for utility. Works with all oil-based plastics that have this problem. Recently used to to clean G-Drive Mobile SSD as well. Don't buy those gimmick chemicals online, this method works better and no VOCs to breathe or irritate your skin.

I used methylated spirits on my Push 1 to get rid of the sticky gunk.

I really don't understand why they continued to use this rubberized sticky gunk after it was terrible on the Push 1.
