Huge job done! Very nice looking. But I'm afraid this will be a Photoshop project only. Cos big companies doesn't give a shit what their users want. They say to users what they need. Live has no API to run your skin, only color changing.
I think You can get some bucks if make smth similar to REAPER, cos it still has no true flat theme. I would buy.

Looks good, but in my opinion the primary part of Ableton needing a redesign is the mixer console and you've largely kept it as it is. I mean, it looks nice and all and pretty, but as primarily a visual worker myself inspired by visual stuff, you've kinda redesigned something that didn't really need it as Ableton is what it is, but missed the main redesign opportunity being the mixer.

As others have said though, Bitwig is still in it's infancy and it shows in its design as it's quite clunky and fugly in parts.

 

@nndmlsvc Your project is well detailed and it shows that a lot of work has been put into it.
Your idea for the Plugin and Samples windows/pane are gold. I can't even start to understand why similar ideas never made it to one of Live's update/Upgrade already. With the inevitable major release of Live 10 at some point in the near future, ones have to wonder if most of what you've showcased in your redesign will not somehow make it to the next release in various parts of the program.

Tags, Ratings, Plugin Categories, Updated visual plugin feedback, Workspace, Key info, etc... are all very well needed features that would make Ableton even greater in daily use of a DAW. So, you've nailed quite a few good ones on the head!

Although I know that Ableton (like many other soft companies) has the stubborn mentality of not changing much based on what users request or suggest. I'd still take a chance to push this to them heavy. So, If you haven't already (which I doubt), your page needs to be brought to the attention of someone at Ableton Live HQ.

Good luck man! Who knows, maybe one day you'll end up on the Ableton design team. I'll root for you!

okay overall i like it its very well done ...for aestetic part and not only i wish ableton for the next update had the essential plugins on every track as default, like embeded into mixer as it was a real one, more like Mixbuss or Sonar ...okay in Sonar are not as default ...but they fit very well ...

Very nice!! I could see something like this for Live version 10. It looks very Presonus Studio One and definitely next-gen. Best of luck!

 

Dark themed, love it! Yellow works for arrows and sliders and whatnot, Not sure if this would be able to do but, always wished for a way to make Drum Racks larger when viewed. I hate meticulous scrolling as I might have 20 -30 cells in a DR. Just annoying, ...
