I have a huge problem. WIth ableton live 9.5 in windows 10.

So lets start explaining that I have basically no other problems than the one im about to explain.
I can save ableton files and export audio to my hardrive, I can then open these files with ableton. They are saved and they exist and it opens the way I saved them. Inside ableton I can basically do everything in there is to do.

but when I start using file explorer to search for the music I just exported or a ableton save file they are gone, like, they dont appear at all. They exist, but they dont show up.

If I go back to ableton and start searching from the software itself I will find the saved files, the exported music and everything else that I happen to need.

I have done everything in my power.
Ive tried show hidden files ofc and a number of different options and tricks listed on the web but no,
I cant find the files I have saved except when im inside ableton.

So I start ableton, open recent files, they are all there, so I right click them and click properties.
When the properties bar pops up it it says the size of the file is 0, it shows the path to it but it doesnt show what program it opens with and some other minor information about the file itself. I can still open it with ableton but in the file explorer it does NOT appear.

If I try import the audio file I exported it shows up with an error
    - The document "path to file" is corrupt [unkown compound stream type]

My library is also gone, the instruments and stuff that comes with ableton, the audio effects, midi effects.
I know I had them there before during my use with windows 10 becuse I allways use the audio effect thing that is like a little extra bar where you can put plugins together and then double click it to close it to have it more orginised.

I have no idea what is going on. So abit further information about my use with this computer.

Recently installed Win 10 because I accidently deleted some important file and comp was unusable.
reinstall windows 10 or 7 is not an option atm.

I havent tried reinstalling ableton live. Alltho im almost 100% that the problem lies within windows.

any questions please just ask me. Anyone had any similar problems with windows 10 like this?

Just found out that my library folder exists according to ableton live, when I browse for Location Of User Library it finds the library and all of its effects folder, midi, audio and samples etc. But inside ableton I cant find anything of that. Might have to reinstall ableton to at least try that option.

I've not noted an issue like that before. When you do reinstall, pop 9.6 on as that will have any bugfixes as well.

    Don't run Live as administrator.

Then: in Live, right-click the file in question and click "show in explorer". It should open an explorer window with your file in it.
