I deleted my Ableton Live 10 and now that I want to install Live 11, the installation setup tells me that another version of the Ableton Live product is already installed. "To configure or remove the existing version of this product use Add/Remove Programs on the control panel", but I can't find any Ableton entries in my add/remove programs section.

How can I fix this issue so that I can install Ableton Live 11?

 

Many programs you will install on windows leave residual registry entries and other junk. Lower level files than you will find in Add/Remove.
You just need to clean up completely or other installs will encounter those files.

You can download the Revo Uninstaller demo and have it search for remnants of the program.

I installed the Revo Uninstaller and it didn't pick up a single instance of an Ableton installation. It has, however, found a few other applications that I removed some time ago, so the program seems to do its job rather well, just not in the case of Ableton.

I removed Ableton 10 via the remove apps Windows program. I haven't deleted any of the user libraries or folders, though. I followed the link that clone posted above and I deleted the roaming and local Ableton folders and tried to run the installer once again to no avail. I can't replicate step 1, so there's no way for me to know where Ableton saved the user libraries. Apart from "Step 1", the rest should be deleted by now, yet there's still the same hiccup during the installation...

hey there, just a quick question: does anyone have a clue, why my ableton 11.2.10-nogrp doesn't read the authorize file from the r2r-keygen (neither if i drag and drop it, nor if i open it with the ableton-program)? the previous version was uninstalled via revo-uninstaller, so there shouldn't be any files left from the previous version. when i open it the first time, it even doesn't install the core library, which seems strange to me. i had a previous version (the slightly older r2r-release) which worked totally fine, but this one drives me crazy. and i even don't know if it's the specific release that causes this. do you guys have any guesses what i could do?

 

Live 10 shouldnt interfere with live 11 whatsoever as up until very recently i had both r2r versions installed
If both are correctly installed you will see that Within the ableton folder in program data theres the live 10 install and underneath the live 11 installation.
Point being theyre two different enteties which dont impact eachother
If you had 2 installations of live 10 or 11 etc then it will cause a problem
Can u be more specific and ill try to walk you thru it all

Obviously delete anything ableton related in program files/data and c:users/user name/ prog data /roaming/local then reinstall
BTW when you try to register it do you get a msg saying this licence is not valid on this device???

 

I have got two of those versions installed together in Windows 10 and 11. I can use them without any problems.
