    Hi everybody,

As the title says. Since the HDPI modus introduced Live 10 has flaws with upscaled Windows 10. I run my PC at 130% desktopscale. And Ableton keeps crashing or dont work as expected. Can anyone confirm?
Try to load some Max4life plugin (crash) or a Roland VST (preset menu/mouse glitch).

    Hi.
I can't confirm any problems with Ableton 10.1+ and HiDPI whatsoever.
I'm using it - even in a mixed environment with one HD and two HiDPI displays - without any problems now.
There have been problems in older versions with plugins e.g. where mouse movements didn't lead to the right position. But those problems are gone.
I first would suspect graphics card, drivers and Windows to be part of the problem. My Windows is Win 10 1809 upscaled to 200% for the 4K monitors and no upscaling for the FHD one, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080, Ableton Live 10.1.2

Ok, what I did now was to revert the scaling back to 100% and then upscaled like u to 200% and suddenly the crashes are gone now also on other scaling, but the Roland vstis presetmenus are still buggy. :/

I have a 4k screen and have to upscale to 280% and have DPI turned on in Ableton. And yes Ableton crash when I use Ableton packs and Kontakt. This is probably like you said due to Max for Live issues. Cause the Ableton packs usually have a lot of Max for Live up and running. I never thought about it being a Max for Live Windows upscaling issue, but it probably is.
I cannot revert back to 100% upscaling cause then everything gets way too small. I use my pc to a lot of other things than just Ableton. I guess I have to live with it and don't use Max for Live until it's been fixed. I also noticed that Max for Live makes Ableton use a lot of memory. Like abnormal amount.
The reason why I have Windows scaled to 280% instead of 300%(which is recommended) is because Kontakt don't scale right on 300%. But maybe I have to go back 300% upscaling and that will fix the crashing problem.

    Edit:
I found out that I can use Kontakt in 300% upscaling. I just have to turn of the browser in Kontakt on some of the libraries to see the whole thing (some libraries like Shimmer Shake, Vital Series Sticks the GUI gets too big). I will test out Max for Live in combination with Kontakt when I have the time. To see if it "like" 300% upscaling more than 280% upscaling

Sometimes, plugins have problems with upscaling e.g. SWAM instruments do. Upscaling seems demanding, so I'm not surprised that there are problems.
But not everyone has problems in priciple with upscaling in Live 10, so there may be a better solution for you than scaling to 100%.

To investigate on those problems I would ask for Windows 10 version, Live 10 version, Video card vendor/type and driver version, that's where I suspect the problems to be.
