    I am on OSX 10.11.5.

I recently installed Ableton 9.7.4 but I cannot get it to authorize. I used winebottler to open the exe app to generate an authorize.auz file, and once I did, it shows up in winebottler, but it doesn't show up on my mac? Like it shows up in desktop in winebottler, but it doesn't show up in desktop on my mac. It won't allow me to drag the authorize.auz file either from the keygen app into Ableton, and I can't find the file anywhere in my finder.

I know all I need to do is drag the authorize.auz file onto Ableton, but it won't let me...

    Can someone help me out?

The authorize.auz file is right there in this save license box, and it gives me option to save in: desktop. But this isn't my real desktop, so I have no idea where it is saving and I can't find it anywhere. It won't let me drag the authorize.auz file onto my desktop either so idk what to do... All I have to do to authorize Ableton is to drag this file... Can someone help please? Thanks

have u tried to save somewhere else? i am on Windows 10. I save the authorization file some where and drag and drop on the already opened ableton live. And no problem so far. Do u have any antivirus software installed? try to disable while installing. and turn internet off, turn autoupdate off in the preferences of ableton live, too.

It doesn't allow me to save the authorize.auz file anywhere...

The way the wine bottler works is it acts like some sort of windows emulator I believe... So it allows you to install and run the keygen.exe file, but like the desktop that shows in the keygen app is NOT the same desktop as the 1 that I have on my mac

Like, I can save the authorize.auz file in the desktop folder in the keygen app, but I can't find it anywhere in my finder, and it doesn't allow me to drag and drop the authorize.auz file from the keygen.app into Ableton...

You had no problem with drag and dropping because the keygen app is exe file and you're on Windows

save it on your proper drive, not inside the windows emulation if you cannot find it there afterwards.
there should be a folder called "my computer" there is a list of drives, they are named differently than normal, you have to find it
