it's all quite normal to question science.. or question anything for that matter.. as long as you are not simply looking for a
way to explain away well established "facts" .. there are a great deal of differences among scientists, for example in the field of
physics, as they are trying to work out theories that, up to now even, are difficult to ascertain the "facts" to support those theories

but not so much about the shape of the earth anymore, Galileo was vindicated also.. though the powers that "were"
wanted to shut him up !

That and the images are actual composites, they are artificially made.

Sorry the solar system is only moving, according to Google, 1.3 million miles an hour
the sun only 483000 miles an hour

How about the Antarctica treaty. No one thinks it's fishy greedy oil companies are not allowed to drill?

Yes, it is alright to question science, but if your abilities are bound by knowing only religious texts and simple 8th grade or secondary school science... how can you even ask the right questions, let alone be able to answer them? You gotta trust others who are far more capable of delivering the right answers. We are, after all, social beings and team players, are we?

indeed.. trust but verify , I call on all flat earthers to prove their point and just start walking a geodetic circle ( you might need an inflatable dinghy for a portion of the journey ) , if they navigate precisely they will end up exactly where they started, many years later of course, but hey wouldn't it be worth it to prove yourself right ?
or in this case...prove yourself wrong !

if you still don't believe, pick another latitude or longitude, wash , rinse, repeat :bleh:

and while you are on the way.. be sure to do a survey of "tities" around the globe,
or "disc" as you so please

Any pilots here? Why are they never trained to compensate for the curvature? The simulators don't account for it either. A very typical 2250+ mile flight from SAn Diego to Miami has a curvature drop of over 700 miles.

No one has navigated from the north pole around the south pole back to the north pole from the other side. All expeditions have done a 180 about face once they hit Antarctica.
The treaty does not allow any civilian to cross the continent.

You actually do fly in what is called a great arc - that takes the curvature of the earth into account when deciding what flight plan in the shortest (with some deference to safety & landmasses).

Also, it's not only pilots of aircraft, some which do get high enough to actually see curvature of the earth quite easily ... been there... but also ships that sail and navigate on great arcs...

This is has already been talked about into exhaustion in this thread or in a related one, this isn't going to gain any traction as some very rudimentary research on your own would take care of any of those points.

You are mis-informed on all points, please do have the kindness to at least have a bit of due diligence before exposing us to your lambastations.

And if you have not bothered to look up the speed of light in a vacuum to compare it to to the awesome speed of 400 thousand miles per hour or 1.5 million miles per hour it 670.62 Million miles per hour. I'll give you that one because I don't have to look it up, but you can check it if you want on the googles or with a microwave and some marshmallows peeps.

    P.S.

I don't mean to be insulting - but just in case you meant straight as in angular to the surface not straight as in longitudinally ...

gravity + fluid mechanics takes care of that for you - you don't even have to think about it, you will remain in an arc perpendicular to the plane of the earth along the central point of gravitational pull as long as the force propelling you and the fluid you are traveling through are resultant in a vector that allows you to continue your course.

WTF ... I am going to stop before I start disrespecting you because now you have broached from curiosity into troll territory.

@mozee so I exaggerated the numbers a little. I guess all of you were paying attention.
Aside from Antarctica off limits, my pea brain can't understand with all the cosmic gyrations this Earth is doing at incredible speeds of 1040 + 483K + 1.3 billion mph Polaris, apparently far enough away yet bright enough, remains very constant.
Whether you believe the sun is 93 billion miles away or not, what are the odds of the moon and sun exactly the same size in the sky?
It is too bad after all the posts, you can't comment on my No.1 question.

I don't expect you to fetch, just wanted an honest conversation.

I wonder with all this speed the Earth is moving around the sun, how come there's no wind at all times? I mean, it is logical... :hihi:

I spend too much time reading about those flat earth theory, it's like I'm looking to be convince...

But the conviction of a globe shaped earth is settled to deep in my mind (probably because of the reptilian illuminati alien brainwash), I feel I'm too stupid to understand how the earth can be flat
