I had the pleasure of writing this cue & while totally satisfied with it :

^ i thought that it would be great if someone would play a few notes live on his acoustic/electric guitar on top,so i asked a couple of good friends...

SLS is a super nice guy, so I'm not that much surprised. However I am surprised that Lois Lane is SLS. LOL Didn't know that. Now I know why I usually like Lois Lane's posts. SLS and I go a long way to roots of AS and AZ I think. Anyway, I'm so glad you two found a common language! :love: Results speak for themselves. Being creative means feeling alive. I'm so happy for ya. Keep it up!

p.s. I don't feel the rhythm part. it seems a bit out of place - too "mechanic"? Maybe put it more in the background, make it less noticeable. Your background and his guitar [pops in a bit too early in the track IMHO] drive this track. It sounds like a soundtrack for a really nice emotional film. SLS' guitar really jives with your atmospheric track. Very enjoyable and too short! I could take about 5 or more minutes of that at least. I'm still a bit hammered from last night and woke up too early... so I like something smooth and nice like this.

To be honest, this isn't at all mixed. The drum track that runs concurrent throughout is the metronome that I used to inform me if the 120 bpm and the guitar tracks are stacked on top of each other, the comps that I did in place which should be spread along the timeline of the song, LOL. SpyFx laid the keyboard pad on me and I went on from there to play what I thought would sound nice to compliment what he played. The hand drums at the end the same process played with my bang bangs. If I can find some time tomorrow I'll reevaluate the track and post it.

the first one was more cohesive but with the coming new mix it may work, the components are super nice.

oook, good! i cant wait to hear at least a rough mix. imho the drums should not be a four on the floor type of beat but more sparse? but maybe when the kicks bass is audible i change my mind lol Anyhow, congrats, it looks really promising.

 

Like I said, those drums were just a metronome. I can't be held responsible for a good mix anymore because I'm pretty deaf these days, but it'll be something for sure.

 

Good stuff, Nice guitar work. Really enjoyed listening to both but being a guitar player myself I prefer the second version.

I really enjoyed both versions.

Given SpyFX's legendary generosity, I figure it's never too late to gate-crash a SpyFX party.
And anyway it's not the first time I've added some musical graffiti to one of his lovely tracks.

On a different day, in a different mood I would probably have gone in a similar direction to Lois and joined in with the riffy grooving. But this time, I heard SpyFX's version and wanted to add something under it rather than over it. So I tried to leave all SpyFX features prominent and sneak something else in.

My joke poetic description is to falsely accuse SpyFX of missing something out.
(JOKE accusation follows)
SpyFX, you can't paint Bristol as blissful ambient serenity and then forget about the lost soul weeping for a companion.
I don't know whether its a puppy looking for its owner or the owner looking for the puppy
