It is quite obvious that the average user does not need all the feature of a Windows OS and so too the same for music producers and video editors, my question to this community is, if i were to strip down Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 what components are required to keep the OS rock solid but lightweight enough to handle the arduous task of audio production and video editing. I'm thinking of going over all Windows 3 best OSes with an application like n-lite. if successful i'll share my results will all .

I have tried various lite editions but they all had some kind of problems. Can't help. But I will be always ready for beta testing.

Not running a lite OS but I'm running Win 7 Ice, and it is rock solid.

By others like TeamOS. There are many fans of windows ice on this site. I can get similar results by tweaking stock Windows 7 or 10.

Yes you can tweak a original copy of windows but i'm talking about stripping the OS to the bear essentials i'v tweaked my windows 8.1 but It still feel heavy and bulky i was using 7 but explorer kept crashing so i upgraded, but to the matter at hand i want to make windows as light as possible but stable

I'm about to install this for offline use. Did you do any updates beyond SP1?

Which application like n-lite you use? What will be the target music video editors to support?

Nope, just Sp1 so far...........and completely off line once I got the drivers sorted. All music stuff went on after it was offline.

I get the odd " you are using counterfiet blah blah" from windows, but its rare and doesn't affect anything.

Shout if have any probs with the install
