Just made this beat, a Pop-ish electronica (Tbh I don't know which genre I'd label it lol). Anyways, the idea is to make a track around the bass with a layer of strings to make it more dramatical.

I hope you like it, any feedbacks are welcome.

ahh that's too bad first impression is really important to me, is there anything that doesn't sound right (in the technical aspect that should be fixed) ?

  7. Technically, the side chain compression is a bit too obvious. The bass is just being sucked in when it should be dominant. As for the composition, I was hoping that the semitone shifts would reveal a melodic destination instead of just remaining in a holding pattern. F to F# could resolve to Db...perhaps?

Yes, there is intentional heavy sidechain on the bass with a kinda slow release. For the melody part I'll keep it in consideration while revising the track. thanks for the feedbacks man

    sure here's the link

I used on some high cut EQ + compression, on Drum bus used some a combination of saturation/Transient design

@elias2tife ,just listened to this track, very nice production & thank you for sharing
Imho the side chain compression is how it's supposed to be on a track like this,it gives it the right vibe.Drums are punchy, very nice work.
I would suggest for your bass lines to always try to stack underneath a sub sine wave ,this way your basses with have extra "weight".
Also try to experiment if you ever remake this track or on new ones with slides/portamento on your basses.
    Have a great day,cheers !

Thank you for this valuable feedback, I did add a a subtle sine sub, maybe I overdid it with the low cut got recheck that, Portamento sounds like a great idea will def try to expriment with it and maybe implement it in the next production

Nice work kind of melancholic which i like but i have to agree about the bass. it is as if too much dominated by the kick.
    good luck

I feel you should lower the volume of the snare hit on the quieter sections. maybe even a delay on some hits there. It sometimes is a little too enthousiastic in the mix. Also I feel that the bass is not that massive compared to the kick. Could use a few points more volume imo. Very nice orchestral melodies and instruments/libs used. Great use of the reverseverb intro sounds. Creative track overall!

Awesome track man. This will do very well in places like BeatStars (If that is of any interest to you). Great work! :like: Only suggestion, cut the level of the snare a little... it will clash with any possible vocals if and when that happens.
