any constructive opinions about the mix are welcome! this was a tough one. Very busy song!

First : i'm a Megadeth fan since their first album (yes i'm that old ...)
I was wearing a Megadeth vest at school.
And still got the original picture that was on it.

I can tell you : this cover is amazing !
You even played the acoustic middle lick ... come on

LOVE the upfront bass, more like Iron Maiden Steve Harris.
Singer is on the Iron Maiden/Dickinson side too, and i LOVE IT !

I will only say a word about guitars (as a guitarist) : AMAZING !

Sounds pretty good.
Drums sound a tad anemic and could use more low end especially the floor tom drums.

one of my fav tracks from Megadeth, the whole Peace Sells album rocks harder, but this song is just awesome.
Singer is more Paul DiAnno then Bruce also imo

Very good mix and performance, solo at 3:35 is a bit different, but thats all.

Nick Menza was an incredible drummer.

 

I think there is no better Megadeth than Mustaine/Ellefson/Friedman/Menza.

 

Great cover of a great song - only managed to do half over breakfast coffee - but sounds amazing - well done!
I'll give it a full listen and feedback after work this evening.
Certainly woke me up more than the coffee!

I know most Megadeth fans would likely pick Peace Sells as their best album, and while Megadeth isn't my fave artist, my fave album of any artist is Rust in Peace. Great cover.

 

nice job, the mix sounds really great to me, I'd be curious to know more about your mixing process.
I beg to differ with Hackerz4life about the drums, they sound pretty badass to me and all musicians are great.
Regarding (your?) voice, well, not my type but it has nothing to do with the technical aspect: it just should remind every singer out there ( even "the bad ones" that people like Mustaine, Bowie, M.Jackson or Cat Stevens, to give a few examples ) have a signature of their own, regardless of any level of technique. It plays a big role in the identity of a band
But despite that, here too I'd be willing to know more about the mix.

I was never a big MegaDeth fan, so I don't know how the cover compares. But it's nice work., sounds great.

I always liked Hangar 18 by them.

 

About singer, i prefer when he don't "push".

Amazing! Veteran metal-head here. Saw Megadeth live at their Youthanasia tour. It was a blast, 2 guitar solos included.
Knowing the huge technical level you had to pull off for this: just hats off. Truly remarkable.
