Is this suppose to allow my browser search to not kill my cpu?, Im open it and then ableton opens, but it still causes my cpu to react like it does without which is delays/freezing when trying to access a browser sound search. Am I doing something wrong?, Im using yosemite with ableton live 9 64bit.

just dont give ableton to many sample folders with to many samples in it. keep like 2000 samples, they scanned fast and ableton index will shut up.

ableton index does index all your samples in your folder you gave it. remove lots of these folder and cpu usage will be zero after ableton is there.

I will probably make this a new post, but, live 8 moves so much better than 9. Can I just use live 8 with the push?

    1. What about re-nicing the indexing process so it has much lower priority? Like: nice 20 [id of index process]
One could do this in a Live launcher script to set indexing to lower prio after it has started
    2. Stupid question:
If I have a properly sorted hierarchical folder structure, then why do I need indexing at all?
Will it create waveform preview files?

Am I the only one with this clever app not working on the most recent scene release?

Doesn't seem to work here either at least for 64 bit. I'm thinking the need script needs to be edited.
