Am I just stupid? This "big thing" is a melody playback unit with a couple of filters, yes? Each library is essentially 12 or so triggers of a pre-written soundset? I honestly don't get it. You press a key... someone else's chordal or arpeggiated sequence plays back synced to your daw...you press a couple of triggers to "individualise" the playback and apparently, you've "written" something unique?

Wtf am I missing here?

Btw, I downloaded the Hexachords "producers" suite as a trial as well. What? Is this modern music composition?? Someone explain this to me in a way some dumb old muso can understand.

You are on an island with Musicians With a Sampler and Arcade.
How do YOU make interesting Music with what you have.
While your peers use the same Equipment.

Hexachords is the same for MIDI.

Or get yourself Omnisphere or Falcon and/or forget about stuff that sounds dumb

 

in most cases im with you, but im using Arcade like a Sample Browser, i dont use the Kits as they are, i pick only some interesting Sounds and using them as one shot Samples or something else.
But this "premade" kits are so uncreative .

 

so it is like Nexus but 4000$ cheaper?

 

I sort of had a feeling what to expect from that arcade thing. Sorry didn't try it, will not try it.. ;)

I'm more concerned about this.. not because it exists, but it's weekly top on sister for quite a while <-WTF?! Watched a couple of vids to see what's it about. Seriously, the results were always utter shit.. like some demo songs from 80s cheap synths. And the guys reviewing are all like (randomize) "man, how cool is that.."

p.s. @BenniTheBlockbuster, I get your point.. I just wouldn't use the "shared" version then. Like to have my samples cleared

 

I would only use this plugin to learn about making melodies, chords or how everything interacts with each other. I see it more as an educational tool than an actual thing you would use in a song unless you modify it in some way.
