I love the music of Michael Cretu , (especially the enigma project)
I like your remix, it's well balanced and it sounds clear.
I would have used more typical drum machine sounds of the 80s and 90s.
In my opinion, with the sounds you have chosen, you have lost a bit of the original Italo-disco(?) atmospheres of that period , but this is your style choices and I respect them.

Such an amazing vocal, I agree about some more classic style drum samples but with a vocal sample like this you really don't need much else:wink:

put bigger Gated reverbs on your drums and layer your snares and all will be fine. the idea of cretu's music in that days was minimal but big sounding drums with alot of compression and gated reverbs

where is the big drums ?

mixing vocals is perfect ,but you gotta add the big drums
dont shy away when it comes to cretu music being covered
use bigger sounds, use better keys , use bigger plugins

  9. It's good work. It's not the biggness of the drums so much as the very slight hollowness of the bass. It needs maybe a dB or two of wellie at the low end IMHO. It works as it is but sounds a tad eighties production because of that. I started thinking there was a lot of General Midi instrumentation going on too, but that could all be in my head. The saxaphone solo in the middle is to die for, that's the standout natural goodness for me. Well done.

just remember not to overuse the limiter, that could seriously damage your track
(always keep back up after saving and mixing down a project as demo 1 demo 2 and so on )

i can suggest you R.S to listen to the extended part of samurai ,
it WILL give you more ideas (just pay close ATTENTION to that stuttering ARP keys and sword swoosh fx
and that wide Bass sound ,you should create that same atmosphere and
and remember also to make the cover as your own style ( IF cretu has big WIDER drums ,you create Bigger WIDER DRUMS )
and if you can figure that stuttering ARP and rearrange it again with another vox/stuttering choir arp sequence
first slow down the extended part and see how its been arranged then redo the arp with another keys
as your own style been injected like a serum in to the mix ,that will give your cover a the needed lift up
and if you are good in sampling you can easily take a sample or two from that extended part and reprogram a new crums percussion
    using gate/pitch /phaser ..etc

by the way R.S , in 2010 i sent demos to the man himself michael cretu
during the Enigma fans collaboration on Enigma MMX The Social Song ),i didnt get enough votes
or maybe cretu sent my samples to the waste bin
but my name is credited Twice in the booklet as one of 100s contributors as hani king for sending audio demos
    (1 vocal sample/1 drums combo )
