    Hi!
I got a 1-minute-long wav sample which seems to be 32bit (FL's Edison sees it as a 32bit file), but this file's size is the same as a one minute 16bit wav (10MB).
    A 1-minute 32bit wav should have a size of 20MB...

Is it possible that the sample was recorded in 16bits, and someone simply changed some settings inside this file so that it's seen as a 32bit file?

(it's all in 44,1kHz sample rate)

    Cheers!

Probably stereo 16 bit will be same as mono 32 bit. Check this.

If you made any edits in Edison, it may have automatically switched to 32bit without you noticing.

Probbly yes. Same with izotope rx, any small edit, and your file in project window becomes 32 bit. Safety for transparent dsp processing, free from truncation and clipping. But export can be any. it will be safer for export as maximum to achieve full qualty possible.
