i checked documents - native instruments - kontakt - pictures but tehre is nothing there. usually I know this fixes things, I can't find the picture icon files anywhere. does anyone have them?

If you go back and ask on the torrent site you got it from, they might be able to help you.
It isn't from the sister site, so, y'know.
Not that somebody won't PM them to you if they have them.
And they will probably virtue-signal that they've done it by posting here too!

no, it works in kontakt 5 and not 6 this is a kontakt problem. i also tried dragging pictures to documents, still not working GUI

It does sound like it.

Don't be so sure.

Since 6.4.+ there have been various fixes because they screwed up certain libraries that have been around for years, such as CSS.
It seems like this could be another one.
I'll see if I can dl the lib and test it on one of my older versions.

 

I cant be sure, but i havent seen an issue yet with any lib and kontakt 6.4.
The OP states that he checks my docs - native instruments - kontakt for a picture file, this doesnt make any sense to me.

He is installing full versions i guess? I have never had more than one version installed, sounds like he is asking for trouble.

I would:
try extracting a copy of Kontakt v6.5.0 Portable, rename the .dll to something else and run this in the DAW, add library and open it.
If that doesnt work,
I would make a copy of the library and batch resave it w kontakt v6.5.0, then try to open it again.

 

Yes, there are a few places where libs add their own button png files etc.

 

i have kontakt 5 and kontakt 6 installed, but on my laptop i only have kontakt 6, i tried both devices.

8dio steel string and Ilya Efimov nylon guitar are both scrambled. In the past i fixed Ilya with manually moving pictures to documents - native instruments - pictures. now it doesn't work. Efimov nylon guitar GUI doesnt work in kontakt 5 also, but Efimov bass works fine

anyway i tried batch resave it did not work.

 

i think maybe problem is I don't have .nkc and .nkr for both libraries? because Ilya bass does have this and it works. but that doesnt not explain why 8dio work in kontakt 5

 

Whilst I was looking to download it (a certain torrent server seems to be having problems at the moment) I found this info for you.
I have no idea if it works.

If anyone has an issue with gray boxes / missing graphics for this in Kontakt 6, I found the solution is to:
1. Click the tool icon and select "instrument options".
2. Click the folder icon under "resource container" and target the appropriate .nkr from your library, at which point the graphics should appear.

If you look closely, the problem is that the .nkc was selected instead of the .nkr (for me this only happened when opening it in Kontakt 6, so I'm unsure if there may have been a bug involved.)


Btw, just to say that neither this 8Dio lib or any Efimov lib have .nicnt files.
So if it's in your Library Tab, anything you have was homemade...

 

i saw a youtube video with same tutorial, but there is no nkr and nki. but why does it work in kontakt 5? Steel work in only kontakt 5, Efimov works in neither

 

I think you wrote something wrong. Surely you DO have a .nki ? That's the instrument.

I have the same issue. I used this library a few times then stopped for some years when better ones (there are several) became available. I recently had cause to use it again and it behaved the same way in Kontakt 6. The only solution I have found is to use Kontakt 5 instead. It works fine in K5 on the same computer and op system (Mojave). you can mix instances of Kontakt 6 and 5 in the same project without difficulty, so this should be no problem.

UPDATE - thanks to Smooth Grooves. Just tried the solution he proposed in K6 and it worked a treat.

 

Ive had this exact issue with many of the 8Dio libraries.Smooth Grooves solution has never worked for me. Searched the web - zip. Weird that it only occurs (for me) with 8Dio.
