Hi all, I'm making music with VST instruments, I want to pick up a similar guitar sound as in this example:
I also want to know what kind of guitar would be suitable for this sound?
    Anything from Ample Sound?
I'm not really a pro at this, but I know a little bit about it.
Maybe it's something from the BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone pedal series?

Prolly sth like Orange Tree Samples Evolution Infinity will give you that baked-in (silly =) 80s tone?
You have "infinite sustainer" so keep on arp / trill foreves, squeal etcs too.

Moroder used Rockman amps to get that sound and Marshall JCM800
Sounds like an electric run through a Marshall with some plate verb and a phaser.

Ive played guitar for a while and it sounds like basically a Marshall type sound, with some or lots of reverb on those tracks. Like plate type reverb. But as mentioned, a Rockman, or even a decent vst or multi fx should be able to get you like 90-95% of the way there. Probably a strat in the couple tracks I listened to. Take it to the limit and song of the whale

Omnisphere has enough guitar sounds - clean or distorted - that will fit to this.

if you're not a guitar player and not a good enough keyboardist, you will have a hard time not achieving the same sound, but playing something good.

check out Steve Stevens rigs for this period, he was on countless 80's TV scores & soundtracks.
