Hey I was wondering what the main bass in this song is? 808 or a synth bass

 

It's a synth bass, most of so called "808" bass (which is technically a kick) are made with synth now, cause on a real 808 it's not as convenient to play note (there is a "tune" knob but it's like a pitch so no precise note), also all the glide effect can only be done with a synth

The sound is pretty simple, it's a sine with a little pitch attack (change the pitch/attack value for different sound), a little distortion (original 808 is just a sine with the pitch enveloppe, distortion is a more modern addition) it make it pop through shitty speakers, and basically you're done (you can also use a square with a lowpass filter for a more "full" sound, little envelope on the cutoff can be use to make an attack sound with the pitch envelope). Put your synth in monophonic mode, and use the mono/legato to taste for some glide effect.
