Michael left it in Neverland unfortunately. Can't walk through the mud at Michaels, for your soles will stick to the mud and you will have a collection of bottomless shoes.

I kid, his secret is he came up with a group of Swedish producers who were the top writers of anything pop in the 90's. The encouraging thing is I think they were originally DJ's who didn't have any music background initially and were able to produce tracks and play them at dance venues allowing them to make adjustments and gain intel as the writing progressed. I saw this in a Netflix doc also

I know me too, that's the best type of experience though. Damn a Netflix doc showed something like that? Surprised by that.

The documentary on Netflix is called "This is pop", and indeed, in one episode they talk about the "Swedish formula" and why this country provide such a large number of hit producer those last 30 years.

Another episode talk about the Brill Building, and make you realise that all those "producer in the shadow who make all the hit" aren't a new thing from the 90s

The serie is fun to watch and make you learn stuff or change the way you look at it :)

Makes me think about that name differently now. Swedish Camp Mafia is all I can think now that I've learned this.

The 90s and the word new in the same sentence make me realize I'm getting old :(

And yeah, ghost producers are as old as the industry itself. The only thing that changed is that with time they started to get a hefty slice of the pie, whereas in the past, well, some of them were black, and you could probably guess how generously they were compensated.

This is the only video that i've seen Max Martin and Shellback producing, looks really laid back and playful, i think the process must be that way, light and fast something that i've lost in a way due to the pressure of do something "selleable".

I don't like taylor BTW but the production side is on point.
