48000 vs 44100

    If only the spectrum wasn't logarithmic, yeah? This difference is less than one tone. You need x32 oversampling or higher for it to be even mathematically distinct, let alone audibly. What TF are you doing if you produce this much extra stuff above nyquist anyway?

    Eh 24bit/44.1khz here. No reason or need to go any higher. When I started, ProTools was locked in at 24/48 so I started there thinking 'Oh these guys must know the best way'. Sample rates went up and up, after years I realized there was no reason to go past 44.1khz. Especially considering all the sample packs and whatnot I have are 44.1 (and that's what my hardware operates at). Absolutely no benefit in upsampling those. If the majority of my sources start at 44.1, there's not really any advantage to recording at a higher rate.

    It remembers me when ppl are praising 48khz minimum (24 khz cut) for guitar plugins sim ... whereas guitar speakers cut at 5khz :rofl:
