dead and noisy are not words I would use to describe the NL2. Cold? very. it is very digital and bright. sterile and clean, if my agenda was to complain about the synth. re: stuck, who cares, besides some player standing in front of a live audience pushing that panic button like a monkey in some cocaine dependency lab experiment. if and whenever, it wants.

The idea was to make a emulation of the Nord Lead. Comparing this emulation to the hardware shows, that is not close. Many hardware owner wished it would be a close emulation but Clavia has build a very unique device also when it has not many features found with other synth like the Virus.
Seeing this synth more as unique plug-in and not as an emulation of X and compare this to other available plug-ins like Dune, Korg Legacy, Sylenth, Predator, Gladiator,..

Gearwire Labs: discoDSP Discovery vs. Nord Lead2

Discovery 2.7 is an affordable software rebuild of the Nord Lead2, complete with banks and banks of presets to emulate later versions of the Nord as well as creative originals. There was one teeny-weeny problem, we couldn't find any comparisons between the two. We were compelled, yea, forced to grab the Nord Lead 2X we had lying around and do a direct comparison with Discovery.
